-tomioka giyu: seven and a half-

He pokes her cheek, reminding her of the past.

..

Going through the forest, he arrives at a lake after his leave. The water is so clear and still that the normal eye would've mistaken it as part of the dirt and walked over it. The moon's reflection on the lake is almost as bright as the real star. He walks through the breeze that drifted past, looking down.

His reflection stares back at him and frowns at him, which immediately clouds his clear mind, reminding him of the disappointment and guilt he had stored within himself. Wasn't he smiling just moments ago, with thoughts of Y/n? He didn't know how to feel. Never did. Like all the others in the Corps, he was here to protect and rid the evil in the world. Then maybe he would be able to forgive himself.

Giyu was worried. Let someone into his life once again, just to have their lifeless body in his arms. He wonders if he would even have any tears left to shed.

Master Kagaya's words had the ability to put others at ease. However, if he was to compare Y/n's voice to the Master's, hers was not an ability. It came naturally to her. Perhaps it is a unique tone that only worked on him.

Whether he liked it or not, another being entered his life with a few others. This gave him the priority to protect them all. Never let what happened in the past happen once again in the present. Yet, Giyu seemed to ignore the weight he carried on his shoulders. The obligation to protect his guilts, and atone for what has happened.

He thought they would still keep in contact once everything was over. He only hoped. Giyu scoffed.

The world is askew. He is just human.
