Some jerks need to be disciplined

Yet another day in the life of Gujrals. Kids gone to school, Madhu Gujral in her office and Mahen Gujral in college.

Mahen Gujral has been busy with full day packed with lectures to classes of different semesters. He had 2 lectures free, but had to fill for another lecturer who was on leave. He hardly got some time for lunch and quick call to Mrs, which is again a part of their daily ritual.

The day in college was coming to a close around 3 PM. Only some 7-8 selective staff are present to discuss and plan for upcoming final semester exams. Mahen was an important person and decision maker in the process. The college had reached great heights due to his policies and governance. He knows how to give balanced freedom to college going folks, who are young birds coming out of their shells with the whole life ahead of them. They need to responsible citizens and also live life with happiness and fun.

Just as they were coming out of the meeting room, all of them heard a loud shreik of a girl. Again, after a few seconds, they heard a loud wail with the words 'Bachao!' All the lecturers were too shocked to react for a few seconds and were staring at each other. Just then, they heard another shrill sound of a girl. That's it! One of them started to move in the direction of the sound and all others followed. There were hardly any students at this time of the day in college. So it was easier to follow the sound.

All the lecturers present during that time alongwith some students followed the continuous crying sounds of the girl and reached a class on the 1st floor and the view left them in complete shock. A young petite girl lying on a bench and a boy hovering over her, trying to hold her hands forcefully and trying to put another hand to close her mouth. The girl's dupatta was lying of the ground, her dress torn, hair disheveled, eyes filled with tears. Every thing in the room pointed directly to one thing - Attempt to Rape.

The boy, Rishabh, forcing himself on the girl, was a repeated failure case, son of a big business man and a spoilt brat. The girl, Sonali, a fresher, 1st semester student, lured into friendship and eventually fallen into the trap of Rishabh and gang. Rishabh and gang successfully spiked her drink, with a plan to rape her and blackmail her further. However, the drink was not strong enough and Sonali regained consciousness just on time and realizing the situation, she gathered all her courage and tried to save herself. When nothing worked, the last best option was to gather help by shouting as loud as possible.

The scene in front of the lecturers and students present was in tolerable to say the least. The boy, Rishabh, was immediately taken into control by some lecturers and strong boys. Police and hospital were involved. Both of their parents were called in. As a Principal of the college, for Mahen it was a matter of great shame that he could not ensure safety of a girl in his college and such a incident happened right in his presence in his college. A person who has lived his life with his ideals, cannot let the boy go scott free without any punishment. He could feel the pain of Sonali's parents, being a father himself.

As if the shock of the incident was not less, they got another shocker after meeting Rishabh's father. The only remorse he had on his face was that his son is going in police custody. He was a typical rich businessman with a money tree growing in his backyard and great political contacts, he cared the least about the shameless act his son was caught in. He also went to extent of offering money to Sonali's parents to protect his son from getting arrested. This is where Mahen stood his ground and fully supported Sonali's parents to file a complaint and ensured that Rishabh gets arrested. Sonali had understanding parents who supported all the procedures and also emotionally supported their child who had to go through the ordeal. At the same time, all teachers present appreciated Sonali for her courage and presence of mind.

Rishabh was taken into custody and his father left to direct all his contacts to save him. He left, but not before giving a warning to Mahen and promised to make his life miserable.
