"Promise...you're no longer mad at me?" Dos asked Uno, eyeing probably for an assurance that they were back to being on good terms.

He nodded his head at her, smiling genuinely, a smile, which faded in a snap when she pulled him for a warm and tight hug. A gesture he didn't expect she'd give, much more a gesture he didn't know would lend him with burning cheeks.

"Thank....you. But...I'll still try my very best....not to be a headache....to you f-from now on." was what she whispered to him, sobbing as she blew her mucus-stuffed nose using his shirt, which he no longer gave a damn at.

Uno is everything but forbearing--that he knew with absolute certainty ever since he hit his prime of life. He isn't the type to shrug in resigned to a circumstance with the same caliber as being discriminated against. But Dos' cheekiness instantly became an exemption in a way Uno never had hazard anticipation with, as in never that he didn't just end up keeping her a roof. What was more was he tried to be as gentle as he could.

"Dos?" He knocked on her door after preparing some mouth-watering breakfast. "You awake? Let's have breakfast."

He stood by her door for a few moments. For that few moments, he received no answer from her, so he decided to peek inside. When he tilted the knob, it creaked open.

"Shit!" he cursed at the instance his gazes set at a sleeping, unblanketed Dos whose only clothing was a camisole tank top and lace underwear.

Her room was cold that Uno felt right when he stepped inside, making him ask himself, why the hell isn't she covered with her comforter? He went frantic. There came when he covered and uncovered his eyes, turned his back from her, thought of blanketing her, as well as leaving her room. But he eventually found himself enjoying the alluring view of her flawlessness. Eyes unblinking. Mouth ajar. Face brushed with awe.

What the fuck are you doing, Uno?! Why the hell are you freaking enjoying a woman's view?! he thought to himself, shook his head, and gazed somewhere else. But his eyes kept on landing back to Dos' perfection.

He groaned in irritation to his self, must have been too loud that he heard a woman's bedroom voice saying, "What are you doing inside my room?" It was Dos, groggily staring at him while still lying on the bed.

Ghad, why am I not this gorgeous when I wake up? was the first thought he had upon seeing her woke-up-like-this look. It handily added to his want to continue eyeing her.

"Uno?" he heard her speak once more.

She sat reclining on her bed. Her top came close to being a decollete dress, for it blessed Uno a sight of her cleavage. Even her nipples digging scratches on it were screaming for a view. Shivers ran down Uno's spine. Heat came rushing to his stomach, to his chest, and his cheeks. He couldn't move, neither could he talk.

"Hello! Earth to Uno!" she yelled at the top of her lungs.

Only then was Uno brought back to his consciousness. "W-what?" he stammered, eyes unsettling.

She laughed. "I didn't lock the door, pala?"

"Y-yes," he replied in a cold sweat. "I--I was knocking b-but....you didn't respond. So I decided to welcome myself inside."

"Oh. That's okay." She nodded her head. "Why are you here pala?"

"Breakfast..."

She jumped off her bed with excitement registered on her smiling face, not minding that Uno could see her wearing no bottom clothing other than her lingerie.

"C-cover up." Uno hurriedly turned his back from her, blushing.

"Meh," she laughingly said. "It's as if you haven't seen someone naked na naman, Uno. Besides, on our very first meeting, we almost lost our virginity na to each other, 'di ba?" she went on, just as though stating something in no need for restraint.

Her casualness shook Uno that he forced himself to face her and to equate her cool by saying, "Oo nga pala. So, ano? Let's go grab our breakfast?"

"Yes!" She ran towards him, clutched her arms around his, and dragged him outside her room. "I'll just brush my teeth. I'll follow you to the kitchen in a minute," said her before running to the restroom.

Wala na ba siyang shorts? He sighed, still bothered by the morning view he had until Dos finally grabs shorts or pajamas to cover her lower body.

"What's for breakfast, pretty Uno?" She came ramping to the kitchen, still wearing no bottom.

Oh, ghad, please. Can someone please grab this woman a pair of shorts or somethin'?

"Chicken fillet," he replied without looking at her. "Grab a seat. I'm already starving."

"Can you please pass the rice, pretty Uno?" She batted her eyes at him as she smiled in a way that appeared to Uno as an act of overly trying to cover up her poor manner last night.

He just chuckled at the idea. Instead of passing the rice to her, he took her plate and scooped rice for her. "Eat."

"Thank you, pretty Uno."

"Yeah. You're welcome." His response was dry, for it was weird that he didn't feel like being called 'pretty' all of a sudden. It must be her frequent use of the endearment that he grew annoyed hearing it. Or it must be something else. Neither did he know.

Their breakfast went free from table talks afterward. The only noises present were their cutleries' clinking sounds, the auditory produced by the refrigerator's machine, Dos' humming, and Uno's sharply drawn breaths.

"Uno/Dos," they called each other in chorus.

"Go first," they said at the same time for the second time around.

"No, you go first," for the third time, they said simultaneously.

Uno, believing that chivalry isn't dead, had kept his mouth shut in cue for Dos to talk first.

So did she. "Do you have any plans tonight?" she asked.

Just as I wanted to ask, Uno mumbled to himself.

He smiled. "I've planned to plan no plans tonight," he replied. "Actually...for the whole day. Because I'd like to make up for the promise I failed to keep with someone. So...are you up for a date...Dos?"

Oh my gosh, Uno! Was date the right word to call it?! "I mean--"

"Yes! Yes! Yes! I'm going to take a shower na then you follow agad after me, ha?" The smile she was showcasing was so contagious; he smiled as well, forgetting to ask why she would take a shower when he was only planning for a movie marathon in the living room.

Whatever, he thought, pushing to his feet to clean up the mess they've made over breakfast while waiting for Dos to finish bathing so he could go next.

"Where will we go, pretty Uno?" Dos asked while buckling her seatbelt.

"Basta," was his direct response, which caused him to receive a pull on the hair from Dos. "Chill, okay? Swear to the heavens you're going to love this day. Trust me."

"Okie dokie!"

He thought of many places to go, but he chose the best place where he knew a nineteen-year-old sucker for movies would surely enjoy.

"Wow, this kind of movie theater does exist. In States kasi, I rarely go out, eh. So I never had the chance to enjoy drive-in cinemas. Ngayon lang," she told Uno.

Uno felt a dash of stinging twitch inside him because who, in today's generation, would ever want his or herself sulking all day in a plain, dull, four-walled room?

"Then you'll get to enjoy this now, and the following days you'd want to." He patted her head as he handed her a bucket of popcorn to munch on while waiting for the movie to start.

After a few, She's Dating the Gangster started to play. Like usual drive-in theaters, the choices of movies were either second-run or classic, which was a neat advantage to Uno, for his date is a massive admirer of KathNiel.

"Uno...." It was in the middle of the movie when Uno heard Dos call him.

He tilted his face to face her, only for him to see her crying. "Why--"

"Thank you," she said as she cupped his face and placed a kiss on his forehead. "You made my day."
