Uno was clueless of what to do first to prove his worth to Dos though he knew it was an act no one should ever do, for everyone was worthy even before the day they were conceived and given birth. But as someone who wanted to resurface one's feelings for him, he considered it as a must-to-do.

What am I supposed to do first? he asked himself while grabbing his breakfast. Gosh, if only you were a man, a simple wink from me would already do the trick, and you'd be mine real quick, he added, taking a hungry bite on the spicy chicken buffalo wings he had on hand.

However, he knew she wasn't a man, nor was she a conventional type of woman. For more than two months of knowing her, he knew how she could be a fancy picker when choosing a partner. He knew as well how probably hard she could be to soften and how equally difficult it is to make her fall again, hence the hard turn down he had offered her when she confessed.

Shall I cook something delicious for her? Nah! Scratch that because that would mean I'd be cooking myself. He giggled at his thought but came to a halt when his phone just right beside his plate rang aloud.

It was his father.

Though wondering why he called when it was too early to bug him nor to scold him for being late for work, he still slid his thumb to the left and put his phone against his ear.

"Dad! How are you and mo--"

"Your Mom and I went to your flat last night, and one of the staff told us you moved out," his father cut his words short, voice carrying a firm, assertive, authoritative tone like that of a father chastising a brat he could call his child. "Why is that? Why didn't you tell us? Was that the important matter you told Wilma you'd be dealing with yesterday? Did you fall short of the payment for its amortization? If so, you could've told me so I could've covered up for it and just pay me back whenever."

He repeatedly shook his head as if his father could see him. "No, Dad. It's--"

"Then why? Kailan ka pa natutong hindi magsabi sa amin? Have you got yourself in trouble?"

"Dad, it was an unforeseen matter to me as well, okay? I also didn't expect myself to move out, had...had--"

"Had what? Better be sure I won't be hearing any illogical reasoning from you; otherwise, you'd be lounging yourself with us again like a toddler in need of a looker."

He sighed, mustered up all the courage in him, and spilled not the craziness he had to pull off for the love of Dos, because why not? He was well aware his father, more so his mother, wouldn't put up with his play. Once he'd divulge his doings to them, the play's over--he wouldn't have the chance to win Dos over Seri.

It's just now that I'd lie, Dad. I'm sorry, he thought to himself before he went on speaking his lines of a lie.

"Mom asked me to look after Dos, Dad. Kahit alam niyang ando'n naman si Seri para gawin 'yon. Siguro naninigurado lang din siya. That was why I decided to move out from my previous place and move in within the vicinity of her place," he calmly reasoned. No tinge of nervousness nor manner of lying was evident in his voice.

His father bit into his explanation, marking the end of their conversation after a few exchanges of goodbyes.

"Fuck! I was so close to getting provoked!" he blurted out loud in relief at crossing such a bumpy road.
