Mikey and I have been driving for hours now...

"Are you sure you know where you're going?" I smack the wheel. Mikey is a terrible navigator. I dont know why I would decide to let him navigate. We are probably completely lost by now.

"Of course I do!! What do you think I'm doing, sending us in twenty million directions other than where we should be?? I most definitely know where I am going!!" I see him glance out the window at the pouring rain and endless trees. He looks back at the map and I hear him mutter, "I most definitely know where I am going."

"Hey, Mikey?" I glance over at him and slow the car some.

"Yes, Gerard?" He looks up from the map at me, "Keep your eyes on the road, please." I turn my attention back to the road and continue talking to Mikey.

"Do you think Pete will be okay with us just showing up like this?" Mikey rolls his eyes and looks out the window.

"He'll be fine with it Gee." I shrug at Mikey's words. I wasn't quite sure that the doctor would be all fine with it.

Yet another motorcycle drives by and I try to look down the road.

"Where are all these bikes coming from?" Mikey looks out the front window at the bike. It's the third one we've passed so far.

"Well, I don't know, but I would hate to be riding in these conditions. It's pouring down rain. What's-" I am cut off by a loud popping noise. I stop the car. Mikey and I climb out and walk around the back to assess the damage.

"Dammit. We've got a flat." Mikey looks up at me, "Well, really? I didn't notice. It's not like we were looking at the same exact tire. And besides, where is the spare?"

"I knew I should have gotten that fixed." Mikey scowls at me and walks back to the car, getting in and slamming the door. I walk back and get in the car. I see mikey fumbling with his phone.

"Damn. No service and my battery is about dead." Mikey says. I try to turn my phone on, but it just flashes before turning off again. My phone's dead too. I go to plug it into the charger, but the car sputters out of life. I look over to see Mikey's eyes go wide.

"Look. Don't panic. I think I saw a some type of castle-house thing back there a bit. I'm going to see if they have a phone." I expect to see Mikey calm, but his eyes just widen further.

"Oh no you don't. We are in the middle of nowhere! They could hack you to bits and lock you up in a freezer. There are strange people in the world Gerard, and you never know what they're capable of. If you're going, I am coming with you. And besides, what if the owner of that house is a gorgeous woman and you never come back?" I scoff at him.

"You cannot be talking about 'strange people-'" I begin to protest, but Mikey cuts me off, "I will not listen to you if you are going to tell me to just sit here. I am not just some helpless woman and I am coming with you." He crosses his arms and looks back out the front window.

"Fine. I know I won't be able to talk you out of it. And this way, if I do get hacked up, you'll be there with me for my demise." I look over and Mikey is digging in the floorboards.

"Now what are you doing?" He sits up quickly, nearly hitting his head. "Aha!" He holds a newspaper up triumphantly. I frown at him.

"Mikey, now is not the time for reading the paper or doing crafts. We need to get to that house and see if they have a phone. And if you wish to come with me, you cant be reading the paper." It is his turn to frown at me.

"This is not for some light reading or for crafts. It's for this!" He holds the paper over his head with a eager grin and nods up and down very quickly.
