"Why did it blow up?"
"How did the machine blow up?"
"They were rushing operations to meet the clients quota. We think the machine overheated." One of Katya's board member explained. The machine that were manufacturing the said chip they built blew up causing Katya to board a chopper and fly out to their other plantation just to see it for herself.
"What are the implications of this? How much money are we losing?" Katya asked, stressed but still keeping her calm as being in rage right now won't help.
"10 million dollars since 10am." Their accounting personnel said.
"Okay, let's not panic. I've spoken with the people who'll fix the machines and they gave me a guarantee that they'll have the machines fixed within 24 hours." Katya said. Suddenly, her phone rang and she saw Jane's name on her screen. She excused herself from the board, went out then accepted the call.
"Jane, baby hi! How are you there? Where's Juan and Christina?" Katya asked.
"Christina and I are just waiting for Juan at school. We're inside the van. Christina is watching on her iPad. How's work?" Jane asked knowing how hardworking her mother is.
"It's okay but we have a lot of problems here at the plant that I need to see and solve for myself."
"Hi, Mom!" Christina said on the other line. "I miss you."
"Hey! How's my little princess? How was swimming today?" Katya asked her you ger daughter, very happy hearing Christina's voice because that's her little princess.
"I'm tired but the teacher said I was very good! I didn't have any asthma attack as well!" Christina said proudly and Katya smiled through the phone.
"That's wonderful! I'm so proud of you baby." Katya told her little princess.
"Aren't you coming home, Mom? Who's hoing to help me with my homework?"
"I'm still so busy here. Eh, um, Jane can help you. Besides, she's smarter than I am so you're in good hands baby." Katya said.
"Okay, Mom. I'll see you tomorrow morning. I love you please take care." Christina said, sadness obvious in her voice.
"I'll see you tomorrow baby. I love you. Jane, I love you. Once Juan is there, go home immediately okay? I know you have a lot of work to do as well." Katya said. Jane said yes and I love you too to her then hung up the phone. She is mad at herself for always being at work and no longer having the time to spend with her kids but this is her job. She worked hard for it and this is the job that feeds her family so she has no right to complain.

Katya, as usual, went home past midnight. It has been this way ever since she became the CEO of WERQ. Her children understands their mom's work but it still bugs Katya since she do want to spend time with her kids as well.
"Good evening, Maam." Their long time nanny greeted Katya as she walked inside the house. Katya greeted her back with a good evening as well.
"Where are the kids?"
"In their rooms, sleeping." Their nanny said. Katya thanked the nanny and walked towards Christina's room where she saw her little princess sleeping peacefully. She walked towards her younger daughter, fixed the blanket that is covering her, then kissed her forehead. Next, she went up to Juan's room, got the phone out of her son's hand. She took the blanket that was spread across the floor then covered Juan with it.
Lastly, she went next door to Jane's room where she saw her daughter's notebooks, books and laptop spread across her bed with Jane sleeping uncomfortably. She touched Jane's shoulder but was shocked when Jane shook awake.
