Chapter 5: The Shifting.

Leila’s POV
It was almost time for the ceremony to begin. In a few minutes I will be shifting. I was wearing and all white dress. People from the pack are already present. I felt my heart beating fast nonstop. I heard from other pack members that the first shift is the most painful, since it will be the first time that your bones would be realigning to take the shape of your wolf.
Mikhail held my hands and accompanied me at the back of the pack house, near the woods. Then the Alpha was already in front of me, and ask me to take the oath to officially be a member of the Lupus pack.
“Do you Leila, solemnly swear to abide by the rules of the Lupus pack, to follow your Alpha, to love and protect this pack?”
“I solemnly swear”
He continued with a hym:
“To Selene (Moon) Hear, Goddess queen, diffusing silver light, bull-horn'd and wand'ring thro' the gloom of Night. Lover of vigilance, the foe of strife, in peace rejoicing, and a prudent life:
“Fair lamp of Night, its ornament and friend, who gives to Nature's works their destined end.
Queen of the stars, all-wife Diana hail! Decked with a graceful robe and shining veil;
Come, blessed Goddess, prudent, starry, bright, come moony-lamp with chaste and splendid light,
Shine on these sacred rites with prosperous rays, and pleased accept thy suppliant's mystic praise.”
“”As your Alpha, I command your wolf to make herself known to her pack”
With that last words, I felt a command to follow, I began to feel as if I am burning all over, I am writhing in Pain, I am sweating profusely, I feel my bones snapping and realigning…I cried and scream through the pain, as I look up in the sky, I saw the moon and felt darkness”
Mikhail’s POV
As I am seeing her in pain, I just wanted to hold her, to take even half the pain that she is feeling. But I know that this will soon past. All first shifting hurts like hell. I heard her bones cracking and realigning at the same time. She screamed in her agony, I am praying for the moon goddess to give her more strength to endure this. Then suddenly she looked up in the Sky and she fell towards the ground and all of us gasped at what we saw.
Gabriel’s POV
My wolf is getting anxious, seeing Leila shifting. I always see other pack members when they change, but it never affected me as much as what is happening to her right now. I don’t know why I and my wolf are really unsettled right now. Then we heard her scream and looked at the moon, she fell down, everyone was at awe at what we saw…
Sorry for the cliff-hanger… I am still thinking of what they would all see eventually. I will be posting the next chapter later, so just wait for a few hours. I am watching a rerun of Hunger games …
