Alastor stared into his coffee cup half full of whiskey. He swirled it in his cup.
Mimzy's voice broke his concentration.
"So, Al, Suga', How ya been?"
He looked up at her, taking a sip of his 'Tea', feeling it burn in the back of his mouth.
"You know how it is, Dear, the same old routine, it's been getting quite boring. I may...Take a trip or something to liven things up." He didn't really mean that, but she didn't need to know that.
The woman laughed. "You neva' were one for gettin' bored, hun! Jus' be sure ta tell me if you're takin' a trip."
The brunette nodded, then downed his drink, coughing a bit. He stood up and pushed his chair in.
"Where ya goin', honey-bunches?" He looked at her, no, glared at her.
"I apologize, I have somewhere to be." He left quickly, as if he never even wanted to be there, leaving Mimzy looking defeated.
Angel was reading over his notes again. He ran his fingers through his hair. He wasn't sure how he was gonna do this. He was... Confused. And scared, to be honest. He wasn't sure how to go about this.
The last time he was struggling this much with a mission was...god how long ago was that? He was probably 15, he had just started going on missions. He was set to go and make a deal for new territory for his father. However... The daughter of the leader happened to take a liking to him. He, did not like this arrangement one bit. It was sorted out in the end...mostly. But that wasn't important right now.
What was important was figuring out where to go and how to approach this. Would it really benefit him to keep stalking? He wasn't sure whether this would work. He had to get closer. Whether he liked it or not, he had to get closer to the man, no, the monster named Alastor.
He was pondering how to go about this when a messenger knocked on the doorframe to his tiny office.
"Your father wishes to see you, Anthony." Angel simply nodded and got up, pushing past the taller man in his door.
He anxiously ran his fingers through his hair as he made the trek to his father's office. As he got to the door he wondered what he was going to say. He brought his hand up to knock but heard a gruff "Come in." before his hand hit the wood.
He carefully shut the door behind him.
"How is your mission going, Anthony." His name was hissed with disappointment and bitterness, and it was phrased less like a question and more like a statement.
"I've decided I must take a more...Direct approach, and thus I will be getting closer to him to gain his trust. I will bring him here when I have him wrapped around my finger so you can take care of him yourself, seeing as he has wronged you so much." Angel...Didn't feel like those words were his, it was as if he was pretending to be someone else entirely, someone who his father could respect as a son... Not ...him.
The man looked at him with distaste in his eyes but gave him a nod.
"Go get dressed, you're in my hunting party tonight."
"I'm what?"
"You. Are. Going. To. Be. In. My. Hunting. Party. Tonight."
"You know I hate that though."
"Just because you are a pansy doesn't mean you're exempt from hunting, got it?" His voice shot daggers into Angel.
"Yes, Father."
He bitterly left the room to his office to change.
