Epilogue: Le Ciel
Standing alone in a sunny field of colorful wildflowers, I am crying.
A little girl wraps her skinny arms around my waist.
She has the flowing brown hair of her father, and the solaced hazel eyes of her mother.
"Don't cry, mommy," she says. "I don't want you to be sad. You can be happy now."
I hug her tight. She is right. We are free now.
My soulmate stands before me. His long hair is tied in a braid, and he regards me with a gentle smile.
Together with my little girl, I run to his embrace.
I kiss his cheek. I will never forget him.
We will hold each other tightly until we return to the sky.
His finely transparent voice won't let me go. "Let's go together."
So I won't fade away...
