I held on to her for what seemed like an eternity until I looked up to see Taylor shuffling down the stairs with her favorite stuffed bunny in her hand.

"Hi daddy I missed you!" She squealed as she ran over to us and pounced on me.

Adrianna quickly got up to compose herself and walked into the kitchen.

"Hi puppy, I missed you too," I smiled as I patted head. I picked her up and headed into the kitchen following after Adrianna to see her preparing breakfast for Taylor.

"We have to meet with the Alphas today, are you okay with that?" I asked her.

She didn't turn around to look at me she just simply nodded her head and continued to busy herself.

"Daddy you have scratches on your arm, are you okay?" Taylor pointed out as she lightly petted the scratches on my arm.

"Yes I'm alright, they will heal eventually," I smiled.

I sat her down on the countertop as Adrianna walked over with her food and sat it down next to her. She dug into her toast, completely oblivious to the awkward tension between her mother and I.

"What is happening with you Kaiden?" Adrianna sighed.

I was being selfish, I wanted to hold onto Adrianna but I knew Isis wouldn't allow that, I was honestly surprised that Isis held out for this long without doing anything.

"Its...it's just complicated right now," I wanted hang my head in shame but my neck refused after years of abuse from my father.

"So just let me in please, I am your Luna and your partner..... am i not doing enough for you? Am i not enough?" She pleaded.

She turned around to look at me, tears welling in her eyes, holding them back to seem strong but she was unaware of what was happening and it scared her that she might lose me.

"Adrianna I don't want to hurt you," I said quietly.

She nodded her silently and turned her attention to Taylor who began shoving her hand into her cup of yogurt.

There was a knock on the front door so I walked out of the kitchen to answer it and there stood Nicholas with paperwork in his hands and a smile on his face.

Back to my Alpha duties.

"Good morning Alpha, am I allowed your permission to enter?" Nicholas bowed.

"Permission granted," I grunted, beckoning him inside.

We sat in the living room as he sprawled the paperwork out on the table.

Alpha Michael and his Luna Astra have arrived yesterday while you were occupied but they have been pretty orderly and calm about the situation, Alpha Issac has not spoken at all to Michael nor I and he hasn't told me much about the woman who is accompanying him, do you know her relation to him?" Nicholas questioned.

"Not sure, I just know she's important to him," I grumbled.

"How shall we prep for this meeting we are having?"

I thought for a moment.

"We invite them all to dinner, make dinner reservations at the human restaurant in the nearest city, no one will be tempted to shift or attack if we are surrounded by humans," I explained.

At least that's what I was hoping, Alpha Michael wouldn't dare cause a commotion around humans, he knew the universal rule amongst us wolves but Isis was a different story, she didn't care much about rules made by others and she wasn't predictable at all. Who knows what was on her mind.
