I pedalled as fast as I could, finally arriving at my driveway. I shifted my night bag from one shoulder to another, the contents of pyjamas, toiletries and riding gear tiring to ride with. I jumped off my bike, and opened the mail box.

"Junk, Junk, Junk," I said as I flipped through the mail. "Aha!" I cried, dropping the mail at my feet as I held the letter in my hand. It felt like the golden ticket of Charlie and the chocolate factory. I ripped it open, without pausing. I scanned over the writing, taking in what I wanted to here.

Dear mrs and mrs birch, we are pleased to inform you that, your daughter, Eva Rose Birch, has been accepted into the OAK riding academy, and been given a scholarship for half the year. If you could please contact us imediantly, and be at the academy on the 19th, at nine thirty.

Kind regards

Andrea Merren

I let out a loud whoopee as I wheeled my bike up the driveway, my eyes not leaving the paper. Out of fifty eight other girls, I got a scholarship, a acceptance into OAK academy. My life was only just starting, this was it.

I left my bike on the porch, and ran inside.

"Mum!" I cried, throwing my bag to the floor. i ran into the kitchen, finding mum leaning against the bench, on her phone.

"Your home early?" Mum questioned. I ran up and waved the note in her face. She pushed my hand away and went back to her phone.

"Mum its a acceptance letter!" I cried.

"Hmm, to what exactly?" mum asked absent mindly. Mum loved me, she really did, but often she was very late catching up to things, or to tied up with work.

"To OAK academy," I cried. "Remember how we sent my letter a few weeks ago, well this is what I got back, I won, I'm going to OAK!" I kissed the letter.

"mmm," mum laughed at a message that popped up. I shrugged and then rushed upstairs to start packing.
