Sigh

The pencil stopped scribbling the paper. The bread that was in front of him was barely touched. Oddly, he had no appetite for today. Albedo put down the sketchbook away and turned to see the file that kept stacking up.

The same file and reports about the missing case.

She was taken care by her step mother for a few years.

As how Albedo had tried to get closed with her, he was a bit hesitant. Y/n was an obedient girl. There was no way she would abandon someone without a reason. His eyes scanned the paper and revised everything he had interviewed.

'Screamings, cries, gates, chains一'

"Why did you take it, if you knew the risk..."

He didn't exactly know why he was bothered. His senses felt so odd. Questions after questions piqued him, he was certain there was more to this than the answers he'd received from the victim's neighbourings.

Albedo stood up and left his room. He went straight to where he had to go.

***

Lora's house.

He wasn't sure why something knocked his head so furiously, the scent flew up his nostrils restricted his concentration flow一dizziness worked its way up his head upon arriving the same evidence house.

He wasn't sure why would such scent be casted around the house, especially after receiving an invitation from the current owner of the house on one clear day. He walked his way inside the house despite knowing the cause of such scent that seemed to grow stronger and stronger every time he visited.

Upon walking in, he glanced at the same middle aged woman sitting on the couch, handkerchief covered her nose一as if what's within the handkerchief was stained with chlorofoam. "Pardon me, Miss..." Albedo called out, taking a step inside.

Stepping in just a few meters inside the house and closed the door behind him, scent of gasoline mixed with another familiar drug一heroin contaminated his smelling sense.

The woman sitting could be charged of drug abuse for illegal substances smelled in this wide house. "Miss Lora," he called once again, walking closer and eventually came to only a few meters away from her.

But the woman didn't respond, the grip on the handkerchief loosened in which Albedo took from her hand. And just from it, an odor passed by his sense of smell一it was indeed, stained with chlorofoam. "Lora," he called again, shaking the woman. "Lora, wake up."

The woman let out a painful groan, her plump red lips became chapped blue, the perfect skin she used to have, became dried. "Huh.." Lora still seemed confused, before she finally took a grasp of the situation. The middle aged woman let out a mirthful smirk, as if she's one step ahead to accomplish her victory.

"I thought you'd bring Y/n along with you."

Huh? Why would he do that? Still, he didn't show it on his face, still keeping the same solemn expression as he always did. "I don't seem to quite understand," he replied.

"I know she's with you一I managed to catch a glimpse of her h/c locks whilst the two of you ate together at Good Hunter."

Breakfast at the Good Hunter was long ago, an old memory that only passed just a month ago. He hadn't known this lady would've inspected his move, observing as if he was an ant to please Lora. "...I can't breathe," she mumbled, which Albedo could agree as he himself couldn't breathe properly.
