"Mike!?" Alex's jaw fell halfway open.
Mike smiled at him, and held out everyone's weapons.
"I'm a shapeshifter, I can turn into people and animals. You guys can take your guns back now too."
The soldier grabbed his rifle, and took the lead in front of them,
"Right, thanks kid."
Alex watched Gavin grab one of the silver pistols, then Mike took one in his other hand, then Alex reached over and took the last.
They started walking next to each-other with the soldier just a little bit away from them.
Eventually they came to a stop in what looked like a small room with a control panel. The soldier walked over and flicked two switches and pressed a green button.
A loud humming sound echoed around before the magenta-colored ceiling began to split apart into two halves that pulled away into little slits in the wall.
When they all looked up they noticed they were left with a massive silo.
They were at the bottom of a tall metallic cylinder.
"We got to get up there," The soldier pointed to the very top, "A hover-jet should be waiting for us."
Gavin scratched his head, "How?"
As if on Que. One flat panel about 5 feet long shot out of the wall.
Then another slightly above and to the side of it.
Then more and more, eventually these metal panels turned out to be spiral stairs leading up the silo on the walls of it.
The soldier took a step onto the first stair and looked back,
"You boys coming?"
Mike pushed Alex forward, so Alex fell into line behind the soldier going up the stairs, then Gavin and Mike followed.
"Be careful," The soldier tapped the wall with the back of his hand,
"There's nothing to hold onto and no railing whatsoever."
Alex looked towards the soldiers face,
"If you don't mind me asking, what's your name?"
The soldier turned his head to see Alex.
"Actually I do mind you asking, but I'll tell you anyways, the names Sergeant Kyle. And you are?"
Alex pointed to himself, "Oh I'm Alex,"
He pointed to Gavin,
"Gavin,"
He pointed to Mike,
"Mike."
Kyle smiled, "Pleasure to mee-"
A distant sound of running,
"Something's coming, hurry walk faster!" Kyle gripped his rifle and let the boys pass, "Keep going, I'll be right behind you."
The running sound became louder and finally at the very bottom of the stairs stood a large figure. Eric.
Eric pulled out his assault rifle with the bayonet and pointed it towards them.
Kyle started firing waves of bullets down at Eric and then looked up towards Alex, "Run! Now!"
Eric simply blocked the bullets with the large shell on his back and then aimed up his gun while Kyle reloaded.
In a single shot, Kyle was shot in the left soldier and dropped his rifle way down below where it landed with a clicking sound.
"Shit..."
Kyle grabbed a small silenced black pistol from his right pocket.
He started jogging up the stairs while he shot down, and Eric fired back up.
The whole place echoed gunfire everywhere.
Alex, Gavin, Mike, and a little ways behind Kyle, were about half way to the top. Alex looked behind him as he ran and saw Gavin trying to aim down there, then Mike doing the same.
Alex gripped the pistol tightly with both hands and pointed it towards Eric. He's never shot a gun before. He looked across the top of the pistol, down directly at Eric. Alex stop walking up the stairs and stood still and Gavin and Mike trotted by.
He fired once.
It hit the floor by Eric.
He fired twice.
It hit Eric's rifle off to the side.
"Yeah I got it!"
Alex lowered the pistol and started walking up the stairs about two meters behind Mike. Alex was still smiling when he looked back down the stairs.
He saw Kyle frantically sprinting up the stairs with a sweaty face, "Go, Go, Go!"
Alex then looked down the stairs where Eric was and saw that he was running up the stairs too, and he was running fast. Eric could clear ten steps the same time they could only clear one. So much for turtles being slow.
"Oh crap," Alex turned back around and ran up the stairs so eventually all four of them were in a line going up the stairs.
They only had about fifty stairs until the top.
Eric was getting close and Alex could hear that everyone including himself were exhausted but they just kept going.
Thirty stairs.
Alex's legs burned so much and he longed to stop.
Ten stairs.
So sore.
Five stairs.
Eric is right on Kyle's heels when they reach the top. It's dark outside but the outside comes in a sudden rush, they're now on a flat roof with metal railings and thundering and lightning in the rain.
They all get up there then Eric tackles Kyle. Kyle unloads four bullets from his pistol into Eric's chest but Eric only flinches. Eric then began to punch Kyle over and over and over.
Gavin pointed the pistol at Eric and shot three bullets until the pistol clicked, signaling it was out.
Two of the bullets hit Eric's arm and the third hit his shell.
Alex fired at him only two more times before his gun clicked too.
Both shots landed in Eric's arm.
Then Gavin ran forward and shoved Eric off of Kyle.
Then a bright light shine on them, Alex turned around to see a large floating vehicle. It was in the shape of a dragonfly, but instead of wings it had two large thrusters that pointed down, igniting a white flame. Alex could also see that it was very well armored and had multiple guns. The "dragonfly ship" slowly came over so that it was parallel with the side of the silo. The doors on the side of the ship slid open to reveal two people with flight gear on waiting there.
Kyle put his bloody hand on Alex's soldier, "This is the hovercraft, this is our ride."
Alex turned around to see Gavin and Kyle jogging over while a gorilla fought Eric. The gorilla shoved Eric into the wall just as a loud crack of thunder shook the area.
The gorilla turned around to face us and slowly transformed back to the form of Mike as he approached.
Kyle tried to huddle them closer to the edge then helped them step over the railing. First Mike got on okay, then Gavin. Alex looked down over the edge.
He saw massive waves, bigger than any he's ever seen, crashing onto large sharp rocks below. He began to feel dizzy and swayed back and forth, then he heard Kyle talk directly in his ear, "You have to jump on now, they'll catch you!"
Alex's legs felt weak but he leaped as hard as he could. He flew forward and one of the pilots grabbed his arm when he came in.
The pilot leaned in to his face, still wearing his flight helmet,
"Nice jump kid."
Alex slowly nodded then turned around to see Kyle struggling with Eric again.
After a moment of struggle Kyle broke free and jumped in the air towards the ship. Both pilots slid closer to the doors and just barely grabbed Kyle's hands.
They pulled him up and slammed the door shut behind him. Both pilots sat down in black benches that were attached to the wall. Alex realized he was the only one standing, slightly embarrassed, he quickly sat down.
One of the pilots took off their helmet, and waved his blond hair around, and the other pilot said something on his radio, then the ship started to move.
The blond haired pilot smiled with his hair going down to his shoulders.
"You guys'll be safe now,"
Alex looked out the window and saw Eric, and more Imperials around him on the roof. One heavily armored Imperial soldier, knelt down with a black tube on his shoulder. He clicked a button and the end of the tube lit up in flames, followed by a long missile leaving a smoke trail.
Alex pointed out the window, which was behind the blond pilot,
"WATCH OUT!"
The pilot slowly turned around to look out the window behind him.
Then the missile hit.
