Alex, wearing only a gray pair of pants patiently was drawing at his desk in his room of his small home.
"Alex honey!"
His mother called from downstairs,
"Could you tell your brother to go to the market, and could you go find your sister in the village?"
Alex set his pencil down and sighed,
"Sure mom."
Alex stood up and walked over to his tiny closet and got a white cloth shirt out.
Though it was dirty, it would do.
He put on his shirt, slipped on leather boots, and then popped a green cap on his head.
Alex opened his door and looked across the crooked hallway towards another wood door. He reached down, picked up a random shoe and tossed it at the door.
"Max, mom wants you to go to the market, and I'll be out looking for Jasmine."
He began walking down the stairs and looked up when he saw that the door had swung open, and out came his light-brown haired brother.
"I always have to go to the market! Why can't you ever do that?"
Alex continued walking,
"Mom said, not me."Alex was shutting the front door behind him when he heard a familiar voice across the street,
"Good Morning Alex!"
Alex smiled when he saw it was old Mrs. Dunphy.
"Good morning Mrs. Dunphy, how are you this fine day?"
She smiled, showing her yellowed teeth, "Just fine dear."
Alex waved to her and continued walking down the dirt road through the poor village towards the observatory. Or at least the closest they had to an observatory. It was his sisters favorite spot. It was a large white steel dome with a large broken telescope poking through the top of it. Some of the steel was even rusted.
As he neared the observatory, he noticed two Imperial soldiers dressed in their usual gear walking by; Black nylon undersuit with black armored chestplates, boots, gloves, and leggings, plus their helmet that covered their whole face. He thought nothing of it because Imperials are commonly found enforcing the law.
Eventually Alex got to the foot of the hill that led to the observatory but one Imperial Guard reached out and put his hand on his shoulder,
"This area is now a restricted zone."
Alex brushed the Guard's hand away looked up at him, "I think my sister is in there though, can I just go check?"
Alex took a step on the hill and was grabbed from behind on both his arms, lifted up, and then put back down on the dirt road.
The guard lifted his helmet off and glared at Alex, "I said, it's restricted."
The guard chuckled a little to himself and then put his black helmet back on.
Though the guard was unarmed except for a small baton, Alex was sure that he wouldn't hesitate to hurt him.
"Fine, but I know my sister is in there."
Alex backed up, and then darted off down the road and turning down an alleyway. He leaned against the brick wall on one side of the alleyway for a while, then he had a plan.
Alex reached down and picked up a large stick from on the ground and then waited at the opening to the alley for a while.
He waited until a small cart of carrots being pulled by a women on a horse came by.
Alex dashed out and jammed the stick into one of the front wheels of the cart, and the cart tipped over as a response.
All the carrots spilled out right in front of the guard,
"Watch it you filthy person!"
The guard yelled at the woman on the horse, and as they started an argument Alex had his chance.
At first he slowly snuck by the guard until he was sure the guard could no longer see him.
Then he sprinted up the hill and pushed open the rusty door of the observatory.
