Elvira travels through the Narnian landscape without stopping or resting, her body and mind solely controlled by Jadis' wishes. She walks much faster now that she no longer has to carry Susan with her and before nightfall, she reaches the hidden mansion of the Calormenen, Rabadash and Jadis. It is flanked by seemingly endless trees and can only be reached through a cave covered by vines.

The guards let her pass with just a quick glance and she strides towards the room with the ice wall.

'Did you get it?' Jadis asks, though her eyes already glow up in anticipation.

Elvira unsheathes her sword as an answer and the sound rings eerily throughout the room, amplified a dozen of times by the empty walls and ice. Peter's dried blood decorates the iron blade and Jadis grins.

'At long last,' she whispers before blowing on her hand and slowly driving it through the wall made of ice.

The ice cracks and moves to make place for her hand and Elvira slowly walks forward. She raises her sword and Jadis stretches her hand until her index finger touches the blade. The droplet of blood hisses when it comes into contact with her ice cold skin and mist swirls up from Elvira's blade.

Jadis laughs maniacally as cracks appear in the ice all around her. The tumult echoes throughout the room like thunder and lightning and then with a loud bang, the front layer of the ice wall shatters completely.

Jadis steps over the blocks of ice, into the open air. She is no longer trapped in her prison. She is free.

Jadis takes a few deep breaths and pops the vertebrae in her neck by moving her head to either side. She stretches her fingers a few times and looks down on Elvira, a chilling smile playing around the corners of her mouth.

'Thank you, dear. You have freed me when no one else could and I will repay you for your services. They have called you many things in your life: healer, sister, friend, soldier, but now you shall be called my right hand; the right hand of the Empress of all of Narnia.'

Elvira bows forward from her waist, her face still showing no emotion at all. 'That would be my honour, Empress.'

Jadis pulls her staff out of the ice circle and twirls it a few times in her hand. 'It feels good to be back,' she says, and she strides towards the door, swinging it open with a flick of her hand.

Elvira follows her, walking closely behind her as would be expected of the right hand.

An unexpected war cry causes them both to stop dead in their tracks, and Elvira raises her sword in a defensive position as she whirls around. She tries to search for the source of the cry, but it bounces off in all sorts of directions due to the empty walls. The lanterns above their heads are lit, but it spreads a poorly light throughout the hallway, making it unable for Elvira to pinpoint the scream down.

Jadis and Elvira cross eyes, but then Rabadash jumps out of the shadows, a battalion of his soldiers behind him. Something silver shimmers in his hand and before Elvira can protect her Empress, Rabadash rams the dagger through Jadis' chest.

'You never should have left your icy prison,' he lisps with an evil grin. 'Now you shall die once and forever.' He lets go off the dagger and takes a few steps back, his brown eyes glinting in expectation.

'Narnia will be mine, just like Susan,' he says while Jadis looks down at the dagger embedded in her chest.

'I will not kill her, not for you, or for anyone. She will be my Queen,' he continues but his smile fades away when more and more seconds pass without any blood coming out of the wound.

Jadis curls her pale fingers around the handle and pulls the dagger effortlessly out of her chest. 'Was that supposed to hurt?' she asks, and Rabadash' usually tanned face loses all of its colour.

'Impossible,' he mutters.

Jadis clacks with her tongue. 'You should have paid more attention, Rabadash. You cannot kill something that is already dead.'

'But, but,' the Tisroc stutters.

Jadis walks closer towards Rabadash, her staff hovering a few inches away from his chest, and his face contorts in fear.

'Please,' he begs, his voice barely a whisper.

Jadis hums, different thoughts swimming in her blue eyes.

Elvira simply waits for further orders, her sword back in its sheath and her hands folded behind her back.

'I will give you one last chance, Rabadash,' Jadis says, withdrawing her staff from his chest and he releases a shivering breath.

'You will kill Susan and the other Pevensies, or I will put you under my control like I have done with the soldiers of your so-called army.'

Rabadash frowns in confusion but his unspoken question is answered when Jadis nods at his battalion at his side. He looks at them and notices they have all unnatural glowing blue eyes. They are all under Jadis' control, hollow like puppets.

Rabadash may think he loves Susan, but he knows he loves himself more. He does not want to become her puppet without being able to think for himself, and he falls on his knees.

'I will kill the Kings and Queens,' he says, inclining his head in a respectful manner and Jadis smiles.

'Good,' she says. 'Remember your promise or face the consequences. Now, call the rest of your army. We're marching to Cair Paravel.'

Rabadash rises back to his feet and sprints away to drum up the Calormenen.

'What about me, Your Grace?' Elvira asks, looking up to the pale woman.

'You will have the most important part in my plan of attack, dear,' Jadis begins. 'You know Cair Paravel and its surrounding by heart. I need you to lead the army, and find a way into the castle.'

Elvira nods. 'As you wish, Empress.'

I scream as loud as I can, but no one can hear it as I am unable to make any noise at all. There is only darkness all around me, my mind is bodiless but still I catch glimpses of the outside world every once in a while.

I tried to push through the darkness, the emptiness when I noticed how my other self held the sword pointed at Peter's throat, slowly drawing his blood. That wasn't me, they had to know that, right?

I try to scream again, throwing my mind against the shadow walls, but I know it is hopeless. I am forever trapped in Jadis' enchantment.

My body is hers and I fear all of my mind will follow soon as well. Though the darkness seems endless, it also feels as if it's closing in.

There is no escape.
