"MITSUBAAAA!" Mitsuba turned his head as I ran towards him with my arms open wide. He braced himself for my embrace, I stopped just before I hugged him and began patting his head instead. "You're too cute Mitsuba." He covered his face with his scarf, his blush as clear as the snow falling outside.
"Hey Mitsuba, what do you say we go to roof, you can get some good pictures from there don't you think?" He nodded and we started heading to the top of the school.
"So how was your day?" Mitsuba still has his face covered with his scarf so his question was muffled.
"Boring, I wish we had class together."
"Yeah me too." He looked down at the ground clearly uncomfortable with the conversation.
We stepped outside, the cold air hitting us hard, the both of us shivering. "You sure we should be going out here in this condition?"
"Of course! It's beautiful out here!" I said as I skipped out onto the roof.
Mitsuba shrugged and followed me out the door to the roof; I sat on the slick ledge and leaned back, letting the snow clash onto my face. "This is so refreshing."
"It's terrifying, get off the edge y/n."
"Oh come on Mitsuba, you can't truly enjoy this kind of whether without some risk to it!" I stood up and started spinning.
I heard Mitsuba gasp, "Mitsu, take a picture of me!"
"You're going to fall!"
"Take the picture and I'll sit."
He pulled out his camera and I heard the click. "Sit!"
"What am I dog? Come over here and sit with me, let's take a picture."
"I take the pictures, I'm not in them."
"Well you are now." I got off the ledge and grab Mitsuba's ice cold hand, leading him to the ledge. "You don't have to stand, just sit with me."
Mitsuba reluctantly sat next to me and flipped his camera around so it faced us. We smiled and looked at the picture, "See, we look cute, especially you with your rosy cheeks." Mitsuba blushed even more than I thought possible.
"You know, I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to ruin anything between us, but I really like you Mitsu. I've been scared as to how you'd react but right now I don't care about the consequences, I just want to be here with you, now."
There was a pause, the sound of the cold, whistling wind being the only thing making sound.
Mitsuba began rustling around, "I think I'll try standing now."
"Oh, okay!"
I stood up, reaching my hand down to Mitsuba, his cold hand touched mine once again. Once he stood all the way up, I expected him to release his hand, but rather, he turned to me. "I like you too y/n, and I didn't know if that was just the feeling friends get but...I really think I like you too, not just as friends."
I smiled and leaned in, he looked rather shocked and in a blink of an eye, Mitsuba lost his balance and slipped off the roof.

A month after that incident I found myself at Mitsuba's grave, flowers in my hand and a black dress on. With tears streaming down my face, I placed the flowers down. "I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the funeral, I couldn't face you nor your family." I began hiccuping, finding it hard to breath. "I can't- I can't STAND myself for killing you! I- I can't...I can't face anyone. I miss you so much Mitsu, please forgive me, I should've kept my feelings to myself...I was selfish and because of that- because of that you're dead. I KILLED YOU." I was basically scream sobbing to this piece of cobblestone, praying that he could hear how much I miss him, praying that he'd forgive me, despite the fact that I couldn't even forgive myself...Praying...that he still loved me.
