CH 1. the girl greenie

~OLIVER  P.O.V.~

I wake in a box about 6ft tall. I cant remeber anything accept some blond in my memory his name is... Newt I think. Why can I remeber his name but i can barly remeber my own. I relize the box is moving up and fast. After about a minute I try and stand when I finally catch my balace the box stops quite abruptly. Then the top of the box opens up and I peer up at the crowd when I see him, the blond "Newt?!" I shout up he smiles and jumps in the box and excitedly said " You remeber me!" "In a sense" I say back with a soft smile matching his. "C'mon!" a Taller boy with black hair says from out side the box extending a hand down I grab his hand and he pulls me up while another boy named Tomas pulled Newt out. I watched Newt be pulled up when I was snapped out of my day dreams when the boy who pulled me up said " My names Minho, but clearly you 're focused on someone else." with a smirk. Minho turned to look at Newt didn't notice he was busy talking to Alby, I laughed and began looking around I saw the diffrent huts that stood about and the wall that went around the entrie Glade. I was turned away from the crowd of boy as they started to leave one by one and return to their jobs, Newt came up behind saying "C'mon Greenie let me show you around." " welcome to glade" he said sweetly smiling down on me. We began walking around he was telling me about the jobs I was zoned out thinking

I guess he noticed I was lost in my thought he snapped his fingers in front of my face, I flinched a bit and looked up to him " Shit, sorry I was thinking"
"It's fine honestly Love, Do you remeber your name?" Newt said calmly "Oliver." we had walked to the kitchen and their were some picnic benches sitting around "Stay here I will be back soon, Im going to get the carving knife so you can carve your name into the wall". All work had just ended for the afternoon and Minho had just returned from the maze he ran over to me sitting alone on the bench. "Hey Greenie what's up!" Minho said sitting down
"Hey Minho, Im waiting on Newt to get back with the carving knife." I respond "So your figured out your name, princess" Minho said sassily 'just like newt had said earlier Minho was "the queen of sass"' " yes I have, and dont call me princess" I said matching his tone. Minho scoffed about to say somting when newt walked up saying "It's Oliver, her name is Oliver." "also..." Newt continued "Did you just try to out-sass minho." he said this time more directed toward me " Yes, but I did not try and out-sass minho as you put it I did out sass minho." I said with a simular cockyness in my voice minho scoffed and acted really dramticly. Newt and I then began walking over to the wall as the doors to maze began to close we talked all the way to the wall whenwe got there he handed me the knife and I began to carve into the stone wall. " hey Newt?" I ask changing the conversation "yes?" he asks "Why are some of the names crossed out?" " those were some dark times, Greenie."  I finnished my name

~Time Skip~

we went to dinner, after dinner we started the bonfire. I sat leaning against a log away from the boys when I heard a rather comforting accent

' why was it so comforting'

" Hey Oli." he slumped down next to me " Hey, Newt" I said turning to him "What's on your mind?" he asked sounding geuninly concerned "Nothing, I just wike in a box surounded by only boys and my memorys only span back about 10 hours, so yeah im just peachy." I said sarcasticly he laughed "Okay I get it, but you are the guest of honour so c'mon" He got up and smiled down holding his hand out for me to grab. He pulled me up and dragged me to where Gally was fighting  one of the other Gladers when he was finnished with the kid he looked at me, "Wanna see what your made of greenie?" Gally said with a smirk "I'll pass." I said I really didnt want to fight him but my feelings changed when he said this "Aww, c'mon are you too scared" we heards some 'oooh' s come from the crowd at that piot i had snapped I let go of newts hand which for some reason I never let go of. I stepped into the circle earning some more noises from the crowd he ran at me and I had him pinned in almost a minute face to the ground I said " I win" and get off him he rub his jaw and ecept defeat by shaking my hand. I went back over to Newt and stood by him "Dam Oli, your good." Newt said "I guess." I mumble. Alby then yelled over the crowd "Alright lets tuck it in!" Alby then walked over to me and said "I dont think you should stay in the in the hammocks with the other boy but, we also dont have somewhere else for you to stay with so at least for to night you with stay with..." he then looked to the boy next to me " Newt " me and newt both agreed to me staying with him. He took me to the homestead and took off the strap he kept on his chest and removed the wraps he had on his wrist I sat on the floor against the bed and just zoned out after about a minute I saw his hand infront of my face again "Hey, is everything alright Love" he sat beside me and looked at me with guenine worry in his eyes " Yeah, thats the second time thats happened today it's getting kinda annoying just spacing out like that and not knowing whats happening around me." I respond saddened but with slight irritation in my voice "Your probably just tried c'mon" He pulled me into bed with him and I fell asleep with his hand around my waist. 

~ Newt P.O.V. ~  

I woke up as the sun into the room, Oliver was still asleep infront of me

'shes so pretty'

I push the thought away as I sit up carefully to not wake her. I get out of bed and get ready it only took a few minutes before she began to stir waking up. I watched as she sat up ruffling her hair  "Morning blondie" I thought the nickname was cute and I responded "Morning Greenie, today you get to start trying out for jobs." she slid on her shoes and walked over to me she fixed my hair quickly. I could feel myself blushing as she walked away laughing. I followed her out and we began walking to the med-jack hut "So first your going to try out being a med-jack" "They patch people up and its fairly easy as far as I can tell" "alright" she answered simply after a few minutes of silence we got there there was some shank with a large cut on his leg. She bandaged him up and she was really good at what she did, hell she was almost as good as jeff, the keeper of the med-jacks after she was done jeff said that she could have the job if she wanted it all we had to was talk to Alby and she would begin. Thats exactly what we did we went to see Alby and afeter a few minute of talking she went off to begin her first day at work. As she walked away with Jeff and I began walking to the gardens they started laughing at something I didn't hear and I satrted feeling jealous why did I feel that way I didn't like-like her. Did I?
