The march of the daffodils. Yesterday's happy thought was about the approach of spring in general; today's is zoomed in to the relentlessly cheerful daffodil. They have begun appearing as bunches in supermarkets, but as yet the ones in the garden are green shoots. They are bounding up quickly though, growing an inch or more each day; full of bright optimism. Soon, we will see their yellow faces nod and wave.
