Blind girl
Diego's POV
"Where is my backpack? Do you see my backpack?" I heard Dora ask. Truth be told, her questions were honestly getting on my nerves and I wonder if Boots had the same thought.
5 minutes later
"Do you see my backpack?" She asked annoyingly again. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. I mean seriously, it's. On. Your. Fricking. Back. I mentally facepalmed.
5 annoying minutes later
"That's right! You found my backpack! Gracias!"
Uggh. She's being delusional. And it's kinda hysterical.
"It was on my back the whoollleee time!"
You've got to be kidding me. I facepalmed whilst standing akimbo.
"Now the map." Boots said.
"Do you see the map?" Dora asked. I've had enough of this shit. She always kept it by her bag.
I rolled my sleeves up. If she asks this one more time...
"Do you see the map?"
Okay. That does it.
"Dora! You do realize you're asking thin air right? You know where the map is. Why don't we just pick it up, complete this adventure and then go home?" I said with a forced smile.
Just when I thought she was about to say something sensible, she just had to drop the bomb.
"Well amigos, wouldn't it be nice to ask Diego if he sees the map?" She smiled towards a palm tree.
"It's there. It's on your f*cking backpack!" I said through gritted teeth.
"Help me!" Boots whispered to me.
"I can't." I whispered back.
"Diego. Can you show me where the map is?" She asked sluggishly.
"It's obviously under the banana tree. Okay you know what? I'm taking you to an ophthalmologist?" I said.
"Ophtha- what now?"
"That's a doctor who... never mind. You'll find that out later."
"Go Diego go! Go Diego go! That's nice. So I'll visit an ophtha- whatever. I'm excited!" She exclaimed.
***
During the ride to the hospital, she kept asking her usual questions. 'Do you see the hospital?' And a bunch of shit I can't remember. This is hopefully the last time she'll ask that. I muttered under my breath, as we walked into the hospital.
I wrapped my hands around her shoulder fiddling with the loose thread of her old pink shirt which she had been wearing since the day I met her. (😆🤣)
"Are you sure she'll recover from this?" Boots whispered to me. Which caused the both of us to laugh out loudly.
"What's funny?"
Nothing.
"Ola!" We said to the doctor.
"Ola. You have problems with your eyes, right?" He asked me.
"No. It's the lass." Boots and I chorused.
"Oh. I see. Please go to the snellen chart which has letters of the English alphabet. It's by your left."
"Ok."
"Do you see the snellen chart?"
"Oh no!" Boots and I exclaimed along with a voice I'd recognize anywhere.
"Swiper?!" We all chorused except the doctor.
"Yes it's me, obviously. Gosh, why can't Dora just tell me what she've been on so I can leave her in peace?" He facepalmed.
"Ya know what doc? I think it's because of the shape of her eyes. They're shaped in a semi-circle which I must say is odd. I think you need to make them a bit rounder." I suggested.
"That should do the trick." The doctor said.
"Dora, come." He said to Dora who was busy talking to Boots.
***
"The operation was successful."
"Finally!" Boots yelled excitedly.
We all rushed to hug Dora and congratulate her. Finally she would be able to see things easily. That's a huge relief.
"Wait, it was really successful? So no more dumb questions about obvious located of objects again?"I asked We all turned esperated to the doctor.
"Nah, I was just kidding. One cannot change the artists designs less, the character becomes defective."
"Wait, what're you tryna say?"
"She's blind." The doctor said.
"Where is my f*cking backpack?"
