Fear knotted in my stomach as I adjusted my uniform. U.A. This was it. This was my chance. I made it. The first official day of classes. For once, I was thankful to not know anyone. No one here knows about my quirk outside of the staff. The best part? A dorm. Aizawa-Sensei had personally met me the week before to ensure I got the key to my dorm. Given my current living situation, it was worked out with Principal Nezu that I would move in a couple days prior to the start of the semester. My lone bag in my room made me feel small. I was able to manage to get some basic necessities from the shelter before I left. My uniform being the first new clothes I had gotten in months. The feeling of fresh, clean linen bringing me a comfort I wasn't realizing I was missing. There's just something about new clean clothes, even if it is a uniform.
Anxiety began coursing through my veins as I lock my dorm. The walk to class was so much shorter than the walk to the shelter I used to have to make every day. The sun shining brightly warmed my skin as I took a ragged deep breath. Thankfully, the scars from my encounter with my tormentors was hidden. No one would be able to see it and ask any questions. Trees line the entry way. The excited murmuring and laughter flood my ears as I look at my potential peers. Fellow new years all excitedly looking for their homeroom and racing to meet their friends.
I tried to shake the fear from my mind as I walk slowly to my homeroom. Kids crowded the halls, making the anxiety twist and turn in my stomach. The noises from everyone excitedly talking at once as they all ushered to their own respective homerooms made my head hurt.
1-A. The door seemed to tower over me. I quietly opened the door making your way in. A sigh of relief escaping my lips when I realized only a couple people were here. I was early. I took the seat in the back by the window, hoping to just blend in and disappear into the background. The only other people in the room were a tall, broad boy with a glasses and a boy with half white, half red hair. Both keeping to themselves as well, their attention on their textbooks. I quickly pull out my notebook and prepare for my first day. Slowly, students began to file into the classroom.
The fear bubbling in my chest as I look at my new classmates. They were all drastically different. These weren't the kids I was used to. Any one of them could potentially be my next tormentor. These kids had far more advanced quirks. The excitement plastered to all their faces. Except for one boy.
His expression was grim, almost as if he were angry. His ash blonde hair sticking up in every direction. He kept his hands in his pockets as he briefly met my gaze, sliding into the seat in front of mine. A new unfamiliar feeling overcame me. Heat rising in my cheeks. He was intimidating. So why did I want to know more?
A red haired boy slid into the seat by mine. A wide smile across his face revealing pointed neat teeth as he excitedly turned to me and stuck his hand out.
"Hey! I'm Eijiro Kirishima!"
"Y/N." I say quietly, slowly reaching out to return the handshake, the tremor in my hand barely noticeable.
"This is going to be amazing, everyone has such manly quirks." his excitement was almost contagious. A loud voice broke our conversation. At the front of the room stood two students and a yellow sleeping bag. Eraserhead. I felt excitement build up over the anxiety.
Shota Aizawa's voice silenced the room. He slid his sleeping bag down and stepped out of it. He had been the one to tell me of my acceptance to this school. His tired eyes scanning the room, stopping briefly to give a slight nod of acknowledgment in my direction.
" It took eight seconds before you were quiet." he scolds, his monotone voice quieting any whispers that were coming form the other students. The two students hurriedly go to their seats, as Aizawa greets the class. His opening statement cut short as he told everyone we'd be working outside today. The wall slid back revealing everyone's gym clothes in numerical order. I made sure to stick to the back of the class, careful to not draw any attention to myself, especially on the first day.
