Chapter 6; another new danger

I had put a lot thought into my decision and the result was to bring Justin Bieber the folder of him tonight. I knew I was backstabbing my brother, but I would rather keep us alive than die tonight because Bieber would set our home on fire. And I knew he would do it, he was ruthless and for sure a man of his words.

He could do anything.

Sighing, I waited for my brother to come home and unlock his office. And when he did, I took the first chance I got when he left the room for today and took the folder with the name Justin Bieber printed on it.

"Hunter?" Lucas called for me and I quickly grabbed everything I needed, then sprinted into my room.

"In my room!" I hid the folder beneath the bedsheets, then laying down on them with a book in my hands, pretending that I hadn't been doing anything else but reading.

"What's up, are you hungry?" Lucas stepped into the room.

"No, but thanks," I smiled, retracting my attention back to the book.

"Sorry I left without telling you today. I figured I didn't want to disrupt you and Laura. And the meeting was a last-minute decision," He shrugged and I just nodded, telling him that it was okay.

"Sara's coming over tonight, figured you would want to know," Lucas said, plopping down on the bed next to me. I noticed that he was really pale and had dark circles under his eyes.

"Are you alright, Lucas?" I asked, moving a little closer to place my hand on his forehead. His skin was really hot.

"I am," he moved his head away from my hand. "Just feeling a little dizzy today. Haven't got much sleep lately," He continued, shrugging slightly.

"You should really rest, Lucas. Nothing's going to happen here," I said, feeling so guilty. Oh, the irony of that.

"You don't know that," he said, looking down on his lap.

"Lucas, nothing has happened so far. The world won't end if you rest for only one day. Just so you feel better. You can't fight properly if you're sick," I smiled slightly, but got no smile in return.

"You're right, I am going to ask Sara to make her chicken soup for me and then lay down for the rest of the night," He stood up from the bed, pacing a little through the room. He then took the picture of Laura and me that was standing on the dresser in his hands.

"So, what did Laura say? Anything special?" He asked, turning to me with the picture in his hand.

"Oh, you know. Nothing special. The usual problems," I giggled and he let out a laugh.

"Alright then," he replied, placing the picture on its original place again and turned for the door.

"Lucas?" I asked before he got the chance to leave the room.

"What's up?"

"I want to go to the club tonight again. But this time to enjoy myself a little," I smiled. I was sure the smile looked as fake as it was. There was nothing to smile about in this very situation.

"Hunter, you know I feel about you going there alone without any of my men..."

"It's not my first time there, I know what or whom I have to look out for," I cut him off. I wasn't really interested in his opinion about me going there alone. I had something to do and I didn't want him to stop me.

"Fine, but only because I am too tired to have this conversation with you," he groaned and walked out of my room.

I was left with the question whether to call Laura and ask her to come with me, or just leave it be. After this morning I wasn't sure she ever wanted to see me again. I hated seeing her like his, eyes full of fear and body shaking. And I hated that I was the reason for it.
