The walk back to the house felt long yet peaceful, the dog had followed us home and I wasn't planning on being the one who told Techno that Ranboo had managed to tame a wild dog. I'd have to admit the dog was cute and seemed friendly but I didn't feel too keen on expressing it.As the small house came into view I noticed Technos figure in the window, his back was towards Ranboo and I, his hands were waving around which made it clear that he was talking to someone.
Who on earth...
My heart sped up a little as the adrenaline began to rush through my body. If I got to meet someone else then I'd be one step closer to finding out who this "Dream" man is, at this point in time he seemed like a mystery that I was determined on figuring out. And in a way, it was exactly that.
Quickening my pace I passed Ranboo and transitioned into a sprint, not caring to look if Ranboo was attempting to match my speed. Grabbing onto the rail I thrusted myself up the stairs in order to gain some momentum before bursting through the doors.
The door creaked as it slowed from the impact. Everyone who had been in the house was staring at me. There was definitely more than one person here.
My heavy breathing was the only sound inside the house, all talking was silenced and everyone's eyes were focused on my figure. I could tell that I looked a little ruffed up compared to them but they still had no reason to stare.
Oh lord, they could at least try and say hi instead of holding this awkward silence.
As if the man had read my mind he rose from his spot on the couch and nodded in my direction. He had a muscular build but was shorter than some of the others who were seated in the house. His smile was soft and warm but his bushy eyebrows gave him an angry old man complex.
"Hi, I'm Phil. Although I doubt you remember me since it's been so long since I've last seen you" His cheeks were a rosy pink and he seemed kind. The name Phil was one that had been mentioned before. My gaze drifted to my shoes as if I was afraid to face the man who brought me here, the man who didn't want me and thought of me as a nuisance.
How is he acting so friendly? Did he not feel any regret over the fact he gave me up.
His strides were long and he quickly made his way over to my spot in the door's frame, reaching an arm around my shoulder he pulled me away from the door. Looking back I noticed Ranboo had been quietly standing behind me waiting for me to go inside so he could warm up.
I whispered a hushed sorry feeling bad for making him freeze while I took in the mass of people who filled up the living room.
"Hi! I'm Ghostbur.." This man's skin was ever so pale and his voice sounded fragile, he introduced himself as Ghostbur. Another person, or ghost, who didn't know what to do with me.
"¡Jesus Cristo! Technoblade you have a woman living here? Good for you man!" This man was loud. Very loud, he had an accent but that was expected when he had started his sentence off with a Spanish phrase. "I'm Quackity."
Where is this man's shirt? How is he not cold? He looks homeless... And worse than I do...
Phil's left arm was still wrapped around my shoulders so when he bent over to poke the man sitting on the other end of the couch I was dragged with him. This person didn't seem to have paid any mind to my arrival or any of the introductions that had been made, instead he kept to himself and found entertainment in stacking and reorganizing the books that were laid out on the coffee table.
"Ah yeah, I'm Sam." He was blunt about it, he was trying his best not to initiate eye contact with Phil and I but he had managed to slip up when he began to speak. I nodded and looked back over my shoulder to look at Techno.
He was quietly murmuring words to himself while I was stuck in an awkward position. My breathing had steadied when I had come into the house but the adrenaline was still running strong.
The room was silent once again and all eyes were on me. Phil's hand thumped on my shoulder to signal my introduction. I sighed and let my head fall back into Phil's arm, his ragged clothing brushing against my neck.
"I'm Y/N" I kept my words short knowing damn-well that if said anything more, then I'd be giving a whole speech based on my life. Except I didn't, because these people had no right to know anything about me, for all I know these men could kill me right on the spot, and I'd be nowhere near my goal.
Sam's eyes widened and his shoulder visibly tensed up, the white noise in the house was the only thing anyone could hear. I watched Sam focus his eyes on my figure, his expression was difficult to read but I managed to pick out a mix of shock, fear and anger. Why he felt this way about my introduction, I had no clue.
Phil had felt the tension in the room, retracting his arm and looking over to Techno who was still lost in his thoughts he grunted. The weight of his arm on my shoulders was released allowing me to correct my posture. All seven of us stayed in our places not speaking a word-- until Sam decided to rise to his feet and initiate a conversation.
"I want to test Y/N's skills," Sam said with a very sharp tone, one that pulled Techno back to reality and earned him a glare from Phil. I only stared at Sam, keeping my mouth shut and my expression blank. He was almost the exact same, almost like a male version of myself. His build was tall and slender and he seemed the type of person to rarely show too much emotion, maybe in fear of being hurt. His eyes were dull. The eyes of a man who had seen and endured all too much in his youth. "What? Come on Techno, let me try. I don't plan on hurting her."
"I never disagreed. If it's fine with Y/N then be my guest. I have to discuss plans with Phil so take your time," Phil scrunched up his eyebrows before flicking his hand and walking towards Techno to discuss these so-called plans. Ranboo, who was now in a suit, walked out of the bathroom. I hadn't even noticed him walk out of the living room.
Sam nodded his head and strode forward and towards the door. His strides were long and fast-paced but still smooth and gentle, he was an awful lot like me. The man named Quackity also stood up but when he noticed I was still standing in my spot he grabbed hold of my shoulders and pushed me forwards and out the door, pushing me to the spot that Sam had chosen.
The clearing was powdered with fresh, sticky snow, although some spots had patches of thin ice that had frozen in place.
Quackity let go of my shoulders once he had reached a spot that stood right in front of Sam, but a few feet back. The skills Sam wanted to test were obviously combat skills. Most of the time I had doubted I would ever even need to learn any fighting skills since I had never met any other humans but it was at this moment that I was silently thanking Techno for forcing me into training.
Sam's jacket was laid over the snow and in the direct sunlight a few feet away from his spot. I was unsure of how long this fight would last so I did the same. My jacket was warm but once I unzipped it a draft of cold air flowed into my jacket. Pulling off the right side, then letting the left sleeve slide down my arm I looked down at my feet while staying aware of Sam's presence. Kicking the jacket over towards where Quackity stood I raised my eyes towards Sam's and let the corner of my lips curl upwards and into a grin.
This was one of those fights that I craved. It got boring fast when the only opponent I had was a sack of potatoes and on the rare occasion, Techno.
