The Right Kind of Love

Chapter 2

        I woke up with a smile on my face. I knew that today would be amazing just like every other day this week has been. We've won cases, gone out to lunch, done all nighters to research.It has been absolutely amazing and probably the most fun I have ever had on my job.We even competed to get to work faster which helped my tendency to be late.

I drive quickly rushing to beat him. I quickly park and run to the elevator. 

"Oh no! My hair!" I shriek to myself. 

        I don't have a hair tie for my bun, or anything to make my hair less distracting. I guess everyone is going to have to suck it up today. I step out of the elevator. Everything seems to be fine, but then suddenly every eye is on me. My boss gives me a stern look. He walks over to me quickly.

"I thought we had this discussion? What is your hair doing down?" he says through his teeth.

"I am really sorry Mr.Grupe but I didn't have time to put it up this morning." I say with my head down. Anger boiling inside of me.

"Don't let it happen again." he said quickly as he walked away. 

        Why do I even stay here? I do way more work than anyone in here yet all my boss mentions is my hair.

 "Personally I think your hair looks amazing" Adrian said swiftly."I don't know what has gotten him in such a bad mood."

"Thanks" I blush. "Maybe his wife didn't give him any last night" I laugh.

"Haha yeah... maybe." he says nervously laughing.

        Oh my gosh his laugh is heavenly. Focus.Focus.

"Sarah? SARAH? Are you okay you seemed zoned out."

"Oh I'm sorry. Let's get to work"

        We quickly go to my office and dig into all the work. Every once in a while I would look up at him. He was so into the work. He loved it. I wished I still had that kind of fire.

*****5 Hours later*****

"Do you wanna go for lunch. I can't stare at this stuff much longer." I say

"Sure. Where should we go?"

"I love this place called Magdelini's"

"Oh my favorite!"

"You like that place too?"

"Yes. I used to eat there all the time."

"Cool then I won't have to help you with the menu."

"Are you kidding. I know that thing like the back of my hand"

"Good. Let's go quickly before my stomach eats my stomach." I say laughing

        We get into my car quickly. California Girl blasts when I turn the car on. 

"Sorry. I was jamming out this morning on the way to work"

"I love this song! Wild wild west coast. These are the girls I love the most." he raps along.

"Umm you're joking right?"

"Yeah yeah of course. I'm just messing with you" he says as he looks outside the car nervously rubbing his neck.

"Aww I was hoping you weren't because........." I turn the music up and sing loudly."California girls we're unforgettable. Daisy dukes bikini on top." I scream the lyrics with Katy.

         He smiles and we sing the song together the entire ride to Magdelini's. Not a care in the world. I let my drop top down and let me hair flow. He smiles at again and again as we harmonize. This is perfect.
