Chapter 2: Red Eye

It's been 10 days since the murder. Inspector Saito and Yamada gathered as much information as they could, but something just doesn't looks right. Every time they get a new clue, it just doesn't fit with the previous clue. They asked the victim's family if he has a nemesis before, but he's a good guy. No one ever hated him. This makes Inspector Saito and Yamada confused. They can't figured out how this "killing spree" even started. At this point, Inspector already lose hope, he already accepted that he will be fired. But Yamada still didn't give up. He tried to convince his senior to keep searching for clue. But Inspector Saito simply said...

"You're young, still have a lot of energy. Compared to me, I just didn't care either I will get out of this career through retired or being fired. So please, don't waste your time to an old man like me."

Yamada's heart shattered hearing what his senior just said. Soon, Inspector Saito asked to leave early, his excusse is that his back hurts. But Yamada just stood there silently, knowing that a senior he's looking up like a father, doesn't have any interest anymore in solving crimes.

On his way back home, he stopped at nearby liquor shop to get some drink. Right at his last shot, bartender gave him a piece of paper with an address written on it.

"Quick, she's waiting for you." said the bartender.

"Who?" asked Inspector Saito, drunk.

"Someone who can help you." answered the bartender, then offer him another shot.

At first, he refused to drink it because he said he need to drive to that place. But bartender insisted him to drink it, telling him it's worth it. With heavy heart, he drank the last shot. Right after, he felt normal, as if he's not drinking at all. He then asked the bartender what kind of drink is this. Then he replied that it's a special mix of certain liquor that can reverse the effect of an alcohol. He thanked the bartender then drive to the address on that paper.

For some reason, Inspector didn't feel afraid at all. He usually refused to go to a certain place to meet people that can "help" him, but this one felt different. He can feel that this is a right call for him. When he arrived, a big abandoned house that looks so old stood in front of him. Knowing his journey will not wasted, he collect all the courage he have to enter that house. At first, it seems empty. But then, appear from the darkness, a young girl, looks like she's in her 20's. Then, she said...

"I waited for you, Inspector Saito."

"What do you want? And who are you?"

"My name is Ito Karin. I will help you to solve the crime."

"Huh. Do you know what kind of crime I'm dealing with right now?"

"Perhaps you don't want to catch that RED BUTTERFLY."

"Who's Red Butterfly?"
