Chapter 37: Quality

"Sorry po, Miss." paumanhin ni Mendrel.

"Ayos lang 'yon. Diretso nalang tayo sa kompanya."

"Ni Boss po?"

"Yes."

He reported to Leese what happened today especially the intrusion of Bianca. Of course, Leese as he is. I don't want to him to worry too much while he's at work. Bago ko pa iyon mapigilan si Mendrel, nasabi niya na sa boss niya.

Brynna:

Hinatid ako ng bodyguard pauwi. Okay ka lang?

Nagtipa ako ng mensahe at sumandal sa upuan.

Ako:

Yeah, okay lang. Thank you, Brynn. Ikaw?

Though I don't know what else she told Natalie but I've known her too long. Siguradong pinaglalaban na naman niya ako.

Brynna:

Goods lang. What friends are for, Heart. I would never betray you.

I smiled warmly.

Friends are like shadows. They appear during your brightest times though some may disappear during your darkest times. There will be someone who stays.

Ako:

Thank you so much.

My words are not enough to express how grateful I am. Kahit anong isyu, palaging nandiyan siya at si Carter. They did so many things for me. Sa likod ng aking tagumpay, nandoon sila. They are the ones lifting me up just like Kuya Martian would do.

Friends can't make the problem go away but they will also be there no matter what you're into. And I'm glad I have those kind of friends. It really isn't about the quantity but about the quality and true friendship.

"Nandito na po tayo, Miss." anunsyo ni Mendrel.

Tumango ako saka ngumiti.

I am not much of a disguise so I'm seen by the people like an ordinary persona. And from the look of their faces, I can figure out that they knew me. Simpleng graphic tee crop top at light pink drawstring cargo pants ang sinout ko na pinaresan ng puting sneakers. Ngumiti ako sa mga office workers na suminghap at nagugulat sa aking presensya.

Naparito naman ako sa opisina ni Leese but I don't use the main entrance. Sa basement lang ako at diretso sa elevator. Now, I feel controversial that I'm showing up in the ground floor. Kasunod naman si Mendrel sa akin at giniya ako patungo ng elevator.

"Oh! Heart Martin--" pinutol ng babae ang kanyang sinabi.

I smiled at her. "Hi,"

She gasped and her hand fell on her mouth. "Kayo po talaga! Oh my!"

Nasa elevator ako at nakasabay ko siya. Mendrel just stayed on the lobby.

She held her phone close to her chest. Namumula ang kanyang pisngi. Ngumiti ako sa kanya.

"It's okay,"

"Talaga po?"

Humalakhak ako ng mahina bago lumapit sa akin. She held the camera to angle our face and I smiled too. Shuttered shots iyon kaya marami.

"Maraming salamat po. Idol na idol po kita," aniya.

"Oh, that's so sweet of you."

"Fan din po ako ng HeartLeese tandem. May gc at facebook page po kami para sa inyo ni Engineer."
