The Rising Dragon

Chapter 1

Pain. All I feel is a pain in my back. The air in the forest is cold, and it makes my pain worse. I could feel my bones cracking and regrouping. There is no one in the forest at this time, so I am not afraid of someone hearing my pain. I do not know what is happening to my body, it just suddenly started to hurt. 

No one is here to help me or guide me through what is happening to my body. I have never heard of anyone breaking bones and remodeling themselves. No one in my family has ever told me that this has happened to them before. I don't think they even know what is happening to me, I don't even know what is happening.

The pain is unbearable. I look down to see what is happening and see that my skin is turning golden and that I am getting scales. Slowly big golden wings sprout from my back. The golden color is like melted Gold. My bones are sticking out from every direction. 

The pain stopped suddenly when I was completely transformed. I do not know what to do now that I am transformed. I start walking over to the swap to see what I look like. My eyes are all gold and it's the same as my body. The only part that is not made of gold is my tail, it has some traces of black.

When I try to flap my wings, nothing happens at first. But slowly I begin to fly a little over the ground. I keep flapping my wings to try to fly higher so that no one will see me when I am flying. I keep flying, not knowing my destination, but I just want to keep flying. For the first time in my life, I feel free and as if nothing can stop me.

I end up at the sea. There is no one there that can see me, so I fly down. Even if I landed correctly, there is still a problem. I don't know how to change back from my dragon form. I can't stop myself from panicking, what if somebody comes near where I am and witness me in my dragon form. I try to imagine myself in my human form, but nothing happens. I have no idea how to change back.

I slowly start getting angry at myself for not knowing how to change back. Even though I know that no one has taught me anything about the world that I am entering. I don't know how I could change back but I started to slowly change to my human form. The pain is not as unbearable as when I changed, but I could still feel the bones in my body breaking.

Since my body is not used to the change it takes a lot of energy to change to my dragon form and then change back to my human form. I can feel sweat trailing down from my body, I haven't even got the energy to move my body back home. Moving right now is hard, I can't go home in this condition so I end up falling asleep at the shore. I know its not the best idea to fall asleep here, but I cant help myself. 

Birds are chirping. The wind is cold but because of the sun, the wind is not bothering me. The sun is shining brightly in my eyes and is causing me irritation. I open my eyes slowly since I don't want to cause my eyes any more damage than a slight irritation. The wind is cold on my exhausted body. I look down to see that I still have my clothes on. It would have been awkward if I woke up naked and then had to go naked home since I would have no other clothes.

I should head home to my apartment now, I need to get back to the bakery I am working at. It is good that I transformed on a day that I have no work or else my boss would have fired me for not showing up. My boss is quite strict on his worker's, the bakery doesn't even have that many workers. His reason for being strict is that the work in the bakery is already slow and the economy is already bad. 

I have to be at work by 8 am. Before that, I have to shower and get ready. I find the outfit I want to have on today, it's just a simple t-shirt and black jeans. I lay my clothes down and go to the bathroom to shower. I shower quickly and take my clothes on. I have nothing to eat, I need to go to the grocery store to buy groceries. I end up taking a granola bar, I will just eat something more filling when I am at the bakery or when I am finished with work.

Work is extra slow today. There were mainly costumers in the morning since people need breakfast and coffee in the morning. Other than the morning there were just a few costumers that bought cakes or pastries. I am on my way home now I am quite excited to just lay down when I come home. It has been a tiring day for me, first my shift and then I had to go work at the bakery.

My body was still buzzing from my first shift. Shifting hurt, but there was also tingling of excitement in my body. It felt like my body knew what was happening even if my brain could not follow the shift. I am excited to shift again. I want to know what my dragon form can do. But I have to wait for my body to be able to shift again. Until then I would try to get more information about my dragon. I should find out what I can even do other than fly and what my dragons color mean since I am gold. I can't ask my family these questions I have to find the answer myself.
