chapter twelve ; the impossible planet

LUNA AWOKE WITH A START, rubbing her eyes tiredly. She made her way to the mirror, tripping over a shoe and tried to get a good look at herself.

It has been about a week since the Wire incident, but she was far better off than after dealing with Cyberman.

The Doctor worries was all, he didn't want to push her into something and have her face another serious life/death situation. He told her he couldn't go through that again, he couldn't lose her again.

Luna didn't know how to feel. She had dark circles under her eyes from lack of sleep, her temper was getting a bit out of check, and she and Rose were arguing far more than before.

Luna was getting tired of Rose. She thought they were friends, or at least, that's what Luna wanted. But it seemed Rose felt insecure and possessive over the Doctor, lashing out at Luna in bitter tantrums and snide comments.

Luna tried to not let it get to her but she kept wondering to herself — had the push been an accident? She didn't think Rose was capable of such a cold-hearted incident, but she wasn't sure anymore.

The Doctor practically followed Luna around now, and it was starting to get on her nerves. She adored him, but he worried so much about her that she felt suffocated. Not to mention, his constant eyeing and worrying made Rose far angrier than Luna would've liked.

She was growing tired of it all.

Luna was just so tired all the time. She brushed her hair, securing the right part back with a few bobby-pins and started applying her makeup, trying to hide her obvious exhaustion.

She and the Doctor had yet to find a reason for her disappearing memories. She didn't know why they happened but they seemed to stop for a while. She still remembered facts and big moments in her life and childhood, her families faces.

But she couldn't remember things on the larger scale and it terrified her.

Luna threw on a shirt and thin jacket after finishing her makeup, rubbing the TARDIS wall gently.

"I don't know if you can hear me," she said quietly. "But thank you for taking such good care of me."

The TARDIS whirred in response and Luna sighed, opening the door and finding herself in an unfamiliar room — not the hallway she usually wound up in.

"Of course," she muttered, shaking her head. "Where's this then?"

She walked further into the room, eyes wondering when she spotted something in a strange language — the same language written on a sticky-note in the console room — and her eyes widened.

"Am I in the Doctor's room?"

Not a moment later, a conjoining door opened and the Doctor appeared, suit and all, with a startled expression on his face.

"Luna? How'd you get in here?"

Luna shrugged. "You know, snooping around, figured I'd check out the captain's quarters."
