a/n : Since i posted a short chapter here's another one :)

March 9, 2018

Today started off as normal as any day could. I woke up, got ready for school, ate breakfast, then went to school. Normal right? Wrong. As soon as I got to school, I was met with Charlie, leaning against his car waiting patiently for me to arrive. He was perched against his car with his hands in his pockets, a big smile on his face. I quickly got a look at him. He was wearing his usual jeans, t-shirt, and a flannel. No one could rock that besides Charlie if I was being honest.

"Sunshine!" He exclaimed as soon as I stepped out of the car.

"Hi, Charlie," I smiled as he hugged me.

"What are you doing this weekend?" He asked, placing an arm around my shoulder.

"I don't know, you tell me," I smirked as we walked towards the school building.

"Well, I'm taking you on a day trip tomorrow," He said as I turned to look at him.

"A day trip?" I asked confused.

"We're going to Los Angeles," He said as my eyes went wide.

"Charlie, that's like 40 minutes into the city," I said, unsure if this was a good idea.

"And that's why it's called a day trip, Sunshine," He smiled before he left me alone at my locker.

A day trip? I had no idea what to expect out of this but I was nervous. I was only ever alone with Charlie for less than two hours. Now I'm going to be alone with him for the whole day? I sluggishly opened my locker, exhausted from the day before. I wasn't sure how I was going to get through this day without falling asleep in class or even standing up. I definitely needed to get a good night's sleep before this "day trip".

"Hello, my twin," Ari said as she walked up to my locker. "How is the plan going?"

"I'm going on a day trip with Charlie tomorrow," I said as she squealed.

"We're getting somewhere, Mila," She smiled, big as ever. "There's no way he's not falling yet! He's taking you into the city!"

"How am I going to spend the whole day with him if I can't stand him," I said rolling my eyes.

"Mila, you need to act like you're interested in him. Work your charm on him, he needs to fall in love with you," She said, tossing her hair over her shoulder.

"And what if it doesn't work?" I ask.

"It will, you're not like the usual girls he dates. You need to use his own game again at him,"

"I'm still nervous it won't work,"

"Just trust me, okay?"

"I'll try. I already wrote log one for that first date. Do I need to do another one for this day trip?" I ask books in hand.

She nods her head and walks away. I stood by my locker, lost as to why she left too abruptly. But, I guess that's normal for Ari. The walk to class was lonely, seeing as Ryder wasn't here. I wonder where he was. It wasn't like him to miss school, hell the kid has had perfect attendance since 1st grade. I walked into Mrs. Harper's room and was greeted by a smiley Charlotte.

"Hey, Mila," She said hugging me.

I gave her a confused look, she hated me yesterday but is acting all buddy buddy now.

"Since you're dating Charlie, we have to be friends now," She said smiling a little too hard. "Maybe even best friends,"

"Charlie and I aren't dating," I said, cringing at the thought of actually dating Charlie.
