Chapter 10 The Unwanted Slytherin: The invisibility cloak

I woke up the room was shadowed. As I sat up slowly, darkness still engulphed the bed room. I heard soft snoring from the other side. I looked outside the window prizing open one of the blinds. A thick layer of pearly white snow was sparkling like diamonds in the morning sun. I pulled the covers off me and grabbed for my trunk. My best friend Alex's family was very rich, and when ever it was my birthday he would buy me something expensive. I never ask him too he just does. I couldn't leave them at the orphanage. The nurses would have taken them so I stuffed all of my belongings in my trunk. After riffling through and pulled out my last present from Alex. Some Air pods and an iPhone X. Alex's family were extremely kind and so knowing the orphanage didn't have Wi-Fi decided to pay for my data. They did the same for Phoebe as well. I took the air pods out of the case, connected them too my phone and put on one of my favourite playlists. I snuck out of bed. I grabbed some worn out black jeans, a white fluffy jumper, black boots, a large long coat, white bobble hat and some gloves. I shoved them all on and walked slowly downstairs. It was now 5:15 in the morning and it was lightening up. I reached the front door and opened it by the large door knob's ridges digging lightly into my hand. As I stepped outside a rush of winter fell over me. Slightly shivering, feet crunching in the snow I explored the garden, snowdrop buds poking through. As a turned a corner I saw a large tree house in an even larger tree. There where feet marks from the back door up the ladder. I grabbed my wand out of my pocket. As I climbed I saw a large room with a sofa. 2 broomsticks up against the wall. A painting of a snowy owl was hung on the far wall. I noticed there was a other room and I walked cautiously into in taking out my air pods and clutching hard at my wand. "Sophie? What are you doing up? It's so early?" It was James. "Urm I woke up. And saw it was snowing so I thought I would go outside. I would ask you the same thing." I said indignantly. "I slept out here. I saw in was going to snow, I though I would watch it happen. Albus went inside once it settled." he said like it was normal. I nodded and walked out putting my air pods back in and walking off.

After half an hour of wondering through the open fields in front of the house I started to get very cold and walked inside. I took off my shoes before coming inside. "Sophie! Where did you go! We were all really worried!" It was Albus his face was pale and it looked like everybody was very shaken. "I just went to see the snow... you live in a very beautiful area by the way." I smiled a week smile as I shoved my phone and air pods into my pocket. "Well breakfast is ready, go and sit down at the table you lot." Ginny said quickly. I followed Albus into a room with crème wall paper and a long holly wood table. I decided to sit in between Albus and James as I didn't feel completely comfortable sitting next to Lilly as it always seems like she think I am going to kill her. Ginny brought through a stack of pancakes and we ate them all quickly. "Thank you that was lovely!" I said gratefully "Fanks mum" Albus and James muttered running outside to play in the snow. Harry nodded at me and I followed. I shoved my boots back on and bolted out side. I couldn't see them anywhere. Then "boo!" I heard a yell from behind me and I screamed. I turned around but nobody was there. Then James and Albus' head appeared and then they pulled something off them and I could see them completely. "W-what is that!?" I stammered. They both laughed. "Invisibility cloak. It used to be dad's then he gave it to James. I got the marauders map though. Dead useful when I need to make sure Rose isn't anywhere near us. They are both one of the only one's that still exist. Well the map is the only one. My grandfather and his friends made it at school. The invisibility cloak is also we think one of a kind. It is part of a legend. Any ways..." He went on as though he was bored of the subject. "Can you fly. Like on a broom." Albus carried on. I shook my head. "Only a bit because of our flying lessons." I added meekly. Albus chucked me a battered old broom "Don't want you breaking our new ones" James added. I mounted the broom and took off. Even for an older broom it moved well. I flew upwards and looped a couple of trees. I landed back down lightly, got off and walked back over. Albus looked ecstatic and James looked a mixture of excitement and confusment. "Not bad for a new flyer." James said in a careless tone. I beamed at both of them. "Where should I put this?" I asked Albus. "Oh just lean it up against the wall" he answered carelessly. I walked over too the wall he pointed at and once the broom had left my hand a icy hand of snow hit my back. I was fuming. As I turned around Albus looked genially scared. I bent down and pulled 2 massive balls out of the snow and lobbed them at James and Albus.

This went on for around an hour and at that point everybody was out there. "Tomorrow is Christmas you lot. You better go get some rest." Ginny said kindly "Get some toast because we will be going to grandma's around noon after you have opened your presents from us. And she always thinks I don't feed you enough." we all nodded Harry laughing. I grabbed a piece of toast and ate it quickly. I had wrapped my presents for everybody before we left Hogwarts. I gave Rufus some money and he bought everybody's present from Hogsmeade. Albus told me what everybody in is family liked. I got everybody's gift in Hogsmeade except for Albus' grandfather who loved everything to do with non magic people so I decided to give him a mars bar, 3 rubber ducks (New of course) and an old book of postage stamps. I got changed, lay on my bed and drifted slowly asleep...
