Minho POV

I put my phone back into my pocket, strongly considering blocking Jisung's number. Did I really have to go through the process of meeting his friends? I was only being nice to him so that I could get the money that was offered. Neither Hyunjin nor I had any interest in becoming close to him.

"Don't you think it's kind of weird?" Hyunjin said, not taking his eyes off of the road. "That client usually gives us people that have a bad relationship with their family or no family or friends at all. Jisung seems like he has a lot of people close to him. It's a bit strange isn't it?"

Hyunjin raised a fair point. I was not in the position to question the client but the curiosity over why Jisung needed to be assassinated got the best of me. I took out my work phone and contacted the client.

Lee Know: I know this is part of the contract but do you mind if I break it?

Unknown: It depends

Lee Know: Why did you pay me to assassinate Jisung?

Unknown: He happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and I wasn't able to finish him off. I'm leaving it in your hands

Lee Know: Thanks for telling me. You won't be disappointed.

"Did you get an answer?" Hyunjin asked, briefly looking over at me.

"Yeah. Our client caused some trouble that Jisung happened to witness. They want us to assassinate him before he contacts the police," I explained, turning my phone around in my hands.

"I see," Hyunjin said. "No wonder they're offering such a high price too."

We carried the cases containing our guns up to our apartment. No one in the building questioned what was inside the cases since we had both explained that we were musicians. It also explained the fact that our apartment was soundproof.

Once we were back in our apartment, we went through the closet door in my bedroom. The closet was walk-in so we had repurposed it into our office. Hyunjin opened his case, taking the ammo out of his rifle and carefully cleaning it. I placed my pistol back on the shelf and printed out the picture of Jisung that the client had sent me. Once it came out of the printer, I pinned it to the whiteboard across from my desk. The whiteboard was covered in photos of past and present targets and locations. Ones that had already been completed had been crossed off.

"Do we really need to meet Jisung's friends?" I asked, putting my work phone into my desk drawer. Any old client knew not to contact me later than eleven at night.

"I thought you would understand the most out of the two of us. The best way to get closer to him is to gain the trust of his friends," Hyunjin explained calmly, continuing to clean his rifle. "Once we assassinate Jisung, we don't need to keep in contact with them anymore."

"Can you promise me something?" I said, turning to face Hyunjin. He was already two steps ahead of me and answered my question without me even asking.

"I promise not to accidentally use your code name in front of Jisung or his friends. You've been on the news a few times so if they're up to date, they might know about the almost famous assassin 'Lee Know,'" Hyunjin joked, cracking a small smile.

"Don't make fun of my code name! It's much better than yours!" I cried, threatening to poke him with a spare tack I had in my hand. "Do you really think people will take you seriously if your code name is 'Hyun Woo?' It's boring. At least Lee Know sounds mysterious."
