Minho POV
I sprinted towards Jisung, praying that I would make it in time. The world around me went silent except for the roar of the SUV's engine. Jisung paused in the street, staring at the car, apparently too scared to move. I wrapped my arms around Jisung's waist and pulled him out of the car's line of fire. I fell to the ground, still holding him tightly in my arms. The SUV's tires screeched as it took a sharp left at the intersection and sped down the road.
"Are you okay?" I asked, letting go of him and standing up.
"I'm fine. Thank you so much," Jisung said. Once we were out of the road he gave me a quick hug. Tears began to form in my eyes and I looked down to keep Jisung from seeing. "Did you get hurt when you fell?"
"No," I said simply, trying to keep my voice from cracking.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Jisung asked, taking my hand in his. His hand was shaking silently, most likely from how close he was to getting hit.
"Nothing," I said quickly, wiping away tears that threatened to fall down my face.
"It's okay. You can tell me. You don't have to be tough all the time," Jisung soothed, gently rubbing the palm of my hand with his thumb.
"I was so scared that you were going to get hurt," I said, giving up trying to hold back tears. I hated that I had to kill him or else he would keep being put in danger.
"It's okay, Minho...I'm fine," Jisung said with a comforting smile. He hesitantly began rubbing my back which began to calm me down. I wanted to believe that he would be fine but there weren't many options left. One way or another, he would have to die.
"Right.." I mumbled. I hated that I cared so much about him. I hated that he made me weak like this and yet I couldn't bring myself to go through with my job. "Jisung, stay by my side, okay?"
"What's this all of a sudden?" Jisung asked, a shocked expression on his face.
"Why are you like this, Jisung?!" I shouted. "I told you to stay by my side! Do you want to die?!"
Jisung looked taken aback by my sudden outburst, taking a few steps away from me. I feverishly wiped away the tears still sliding down my cheeks. "Why are you acting like this?" He asked.
"You almost just got hit by a car! I'm worried about you!" I said, trying to keep my rising frustration out of my voice.
"Minho hyung, I'm fine," He said with a small smile. I was about ready to slap him, though I couldn't blame him for not understanding. He had no idea what was going on.
"Jisung," I said, staring him right in the eyes.
"Yes?" He replied, tilting his head slightly to the side.
"Don't go to work today. If your boss gives you crap for it then let me know. I have a feeling whoever threatened Jeongin and demanded money from you is out to get you. Stay at home until this blows over," I ordered. Jisung stared at me like I had gone insane. Maybe I had but at this rate it didn't matter. All that mattered to me was that Jisung was safe.
"I understand," Jisung said, the look on his face making it clear that he was lying. However, he wasn't protesting and was going along with it. That's all I could ask for.
"Let me walk you home. Who knows if that person will be back," I said, gently holding Jisung's hand.
"I can walk on my own you know," Jisung said, looking at me with a surprised look on his face.
"I'm aware. I feel better having you close like this," I said, staring straight ahead.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Jisung asked with a nervous laugh. He didn't seem to be uncomfortable with me holding his hand so I didn't let go.
"Figure it out," I said simply. A small smile formed on my face upon seeing his puzzled expression. I couldn't hope for much because if he ever found out who I was then he would never talk to me again.
The walk back to Jisung's apartment seemed to take no time at all. Before I knew it, we were in front of the glass doors to the lobby.
"I'll let you go back to your apartment from here," I stated, letting go of Jisung's hand.
"You can hang out for a little bit if you want," Jisung offered, looking at me hopefully. For a moment, I considered it but there was work I needed to do.
"Maybe some other time, okay?" I said. Jisung looked disappointed but didn't say anything more about it.
"Bye, hyung!" He said as he opened the glass doors into the lobby. I watched him through the doors until he disappeared into the elevator.

Jisung POV
I turned around just in time to see Minho beginning to walk away through the closing elevator doors. My heart was still pounding in my chest from a mixture of fear from having almost been hit by a car and the confusion as to why Minho was suddenly acting so kind towards me. He had been kind from the beginning but it had been a more distant type of kind. As if he wanted to avoid getting closer to me than he had to.
I paced around the empty elevator, thoughts of what had just happened flashing through my mind. Did Minho know something that I didn't? He didn't seem to think that me almost getting hit by a car was a coincidence. These thoughts continued to race through my mind as I put in the code to my apartment. I was going to call my boss and tell him that I would be out of work for the time being and then spend the rest of the day with Felix, Seungmin, and Jeongin.
The door to my apartment beeped as I entered the code and I walked inside, the door locking with a soft click behind me. I stood by the door to my balcony overlooking the city as I pulled out my phone and dialed my boss's number. The phone rang a few times when someone grabbed me from behind and put a cloth over my nose and mouth. I struggled against their tight grip before the view of the city went dark.
