Chapter 2: A dying bird

I was waiting for her to come back. Suddenly, I heard footsteps louder and louder. Scared, I tried to hide behind her bed:
-It's me, Calli, she said.
-Thanks God it's you!, I replied, coming out from my hiding place.

She comes next to me and says:
-Hope I didn't make you wait for me too much.
-Don't worry, for you I can wait a thousand years!, I replied.

She blushed. She came closer to me, now our faces being only two centimeters apart. She smiled at me, with tears in her eyes:
-I can't be with you, she wispered.
-Why?, I asked, confused.
-I...I am the cursed unborn child. The only way to break the curse is to drink my soulmate's blood. But because I am the daughter of the vampire queen, I can't bite anyone without them dying. So please, run away from here! I don't want you to die aswell!

She pushed me out of the window, which was right next to a forest. She shouted again as her voice pitched:
-Run, please!

I stood there, watching her crying. I didn't know what I could do to help her. I wanted her to live, to have a normal life. So I shouted:
-Calli, I won't leave you!

She stopped crying, then she jumped out the window. Her face was very serious, looking at me. She looked very powerful, even if she usually seems very fragile. I gasped as she said:
-Why won't you?
-I...I don't know yet, but I feel like you are the only one I got left. You see, my parents died long ago, and Dany was the only one who helped me, giving me a home, as he was from a very rich family, I replied.
-I am so sorry he had to die, she whispered.
-Whatever the reason was, I hope it was a good one.

I was starring at her, not noticing what I really was doing. She saw me and asked:
-Is my hair weird? Or do I have something on my face?
-No, I replied.
-Then?
-I think I just lost myself looking at you for a moment...

Callidora blushes as she aproaches me:
-Let's run away from here!
-What do you mean "run away"?, I asked shocked.
-We can live together, until my last moments.

I couldn't believe my ears. She really wanted to run away with me. I accepted, then we started running into the forest. As we were walking, we heard a creak behind us. Callidora looked at me, almost terrified, telling me to stay behind a tree and never get away from there unless she says so. Then she walked away, carefully. In the next moment I heard her saying:
-Ady, come here! Help, please!

I ran towards her as fast as I could. I was worried for her. When I got to the place where she was, I saw a bird laying on the grass. Her wings were broken, so she was unable to fly. As I took it from the ground, the bird began to move, scared, and to try to get away from my hands. When she finally got free, she fell down, crushing her legs. Now she was just sitting there, not even moving anymore. I checked her to see if she was ok but she was dead. When I told Callidora that the bird was dead, she got sad. I came closer to her, rubbing her back and saying:
-Don't worry, Calli, she is in a better place now.

She hugged me, telling me she feels safe with me. I really felt closer to her. Even if she may have killed Dany, somehow I got attached to her. However, I still couldn't trust her, as I didn't really knew her. But in that moment, all I wanted was her to be with me. I kissed her on the forehead telling her not to worry. We started to walk again, as we were trying to get far away from her house as fast as possible. We walked for ten minutes then hid behind a tree, as we heard Rose's voice:
-Callidora? Where are you?, she asked.

She kept shouting her name, then she walked away. We finally got away from the tree when we hear her saying:
-Here you are!

Then suddenly she sees me, and gets next to me. I was terrified, just like Callidora was aswell. Rose looked me in the eyes, saying:
-You are going to fall asleep, nothing will wake you up until you hear me saying "wake up sleepy head". That was the last thing I remembered...

Hello guys! Hope you enjoyed this chapter. I know it's way shorter than the last one but I have a lot of ideas for upcoming chapters and I promise the next one will be bigger. I will try to post every Thursday, so therefore, tomorrow(25 feb.) the first chapter will be uploaded. I hope to finish the third chapter by next week(which is the week I posted this chapter).
