Hidden In The Frost | Poem

powdery snow
oh how his spirits flowed
the tom all aloe
letting his adventurous thoughts roam

the bare naked trees
stretched up and reached
towards the gray cloud horizon
as the tom walked on
in the white wonderland of wilderness

the weather was bitter
cold and brittle
but he stepped on
farther into the frost

the camp was far behind
the tom was alone
letting his calm thoughts roam
in the white wonderland of wilderness

the air tasted fresh with snowfall
as the lightened forest called
for the tom to crawl
through the powder towards its heart

the closer he ventured
the more free he felt
for his body was afloat
in the white wonderland of wilderness

in the center of the woods
the tom halted and took in
the scent of winter and kithood
and the feeling of being completely alone

but no, he wasn’t alone
he had himself and the woods
lost in the white wonderland of wilderness
and hidden away in the frost
