Joey's pov

The next morning I'm woken to the sound of obnoxious yelling coming from downstairs. I rub my eyes and sit up slowly in the large bed. My hair is tangled and messy, my body is sore, and I feel disgusting since I haven't showered in days. Regardless, I stand up and hobble to the door and down the carpeted stairs towards the ruckus in the kitchen.

"God can't you save your stupid antics for later Sid?!" One voice shouts.

"I didn't try to this time!!" Another whines.

"Craig get the fucking fire extiguisher!"

I peek around the corner to see three men scrambling around the kitchen to try and put out the large fire that blazes in a pan on the stove. Four more sit back at the table in the kitchen and laugh at the three running around, the one who I assume is Sid is standing close to the doorway with his arms crossed, sulking.

"Well look who decided to join us!" One of the four men laughing says as he makes his way over to me. He has wavy blonde hair, a bright smile, and blue eyes that aren't unlike mine. He claps his hand on the back of my shoulder making me wince as he pulls me to the table, sitting me down next to him.

"I guess the asshole hasn't bothered to introduce us yet." One man with shaved dark brown hair chuckles as he jabs a thumb towards Shawn who's spraying the fire down with the fire extinguisher.

I shake my head.

"Figues." One with long black hair mutters.

"Well I'm Paul, that's Mick, Corey, and Chris." He points to each of the men sitting at the table, "that's Jim and Craig, you already know Shawn... And the one pouting is Sid." Paul smiles.

Knowing their names doesn't make me feel any better about being here yet I nod, letting him understand that I got it.

"So uh... Joey... You want anything to eat?" Paul questions.

"No."

"Come on man! Just because Sid can't cook doesn't mean we can't." Corey chuckles.

"Not hungry." I retort and cross my arms.

"Well you need a shower dude. I can smell you all the way across the room." The one deemed Sid says as he fans his nose.

"So sorry that I was the one that got kidnapped!" I grumble.

The guys around me chuckle and go back to talking.

"I'm serious though dude. You need a serious shower." Sid says, grabbing my arm and heaving me up from my seat.

"Sidney! Be gentle!" Jim shouts as Sid drags me down the hall.

"I'll be gentle when he doesn't smell like a fucking farm animal!" Sid shouts back.

"Says you Sid!" Mick's voice rings out, a chorus of laughter following quickly after.

I can't help but snicker at Mick's comment as Sid drags me to a bathroom on the first floor, turning on the shower and standing by the door.

"Take a shower, don't bother with your clothes, I'll leave some clean ones outside the door. Come out when you don't smell like shit." He grumbles, walking out and shutting the door behind him.

I quickly lock the door behind him and survey the small bathroom, the shower is on the right, the sink is on the left with the toilet next to it, a small window right above it. I can't help but smile when I see my chance to escape. I immediately hop up onto the toilet any pry the window open as quickly as I can. The light breeze from outside brushes my hair back as I peek out the window, seeing the side of the next house over. The window is small but so am I so I'll be able to get through it no problem. I leave the shower running as I push myself through the window, pressing myself flat against the ground to get through the small space.

I want to jump and scream for joy when I stand up on the green grass but I know I don't have long to get a head start. Once they realize I'm gone, I'm certain they'll start a manhunt for me. I try my best to run to the woods across the street. My hope being that I can lose whoever will try and find me by going into the woods.
My sore legs carry me as fast as they can across the large driveway. Why is their property so big?
My bare feet scrape the ground and my ankles throb but I keep running through the deep woods. If I run far enough I might end up at some main road or at the very least a place to camp out for a while... If my legs will carry me that far...
