Wherever We Go

Chapter 9:

Josef

Promise you won't ever leave like that again. She didn't reject me and she still loves me. On the way back, she told me that she loved me and that she was sad when I'd left and so happy when I came back. She told me that she didn't ever want me to leave again. I told her that I love her and when we were on her doorstep, she told me to come again soon and she'd kissed me and put the silver locket around her neck. I'd told her she'd looked beautiful and she laughed. I've missed that laugh. Then she hugged me again and went inside.

Josef walked the whole three blocks. He felt lighter and he was so glad that she didn't reject him and that she'd asked him to come back. She took the locket and he'd fastened it against her neck. Now what? Would they have a future together? Wherever would they go?

Does she really love me?

Is this one of my fantasies?

What future do we have?

It doesn't matter.

We will be together wherever we go.
