"It was early, six in the morning. I stop in front of a building with my bicycle. Catching my breath rushing, while the anxiety pumps in my head thinking I might get late, but looking at my wristwatch, it is too early. Observing those pedestrians, they were rushing much too early, like me. Normal scene of those people in the morning ruled by a monster clock.
I looked up above the high building; I almost can't see clearer; it was coated with some sort of clouds around it. I didn't know that this skyscraper, which is in the heart of the city, was her office.
God...she is the boss...
"Excuse me, Miss Sexy, if you don't mind? " The man says, looking at me with his amazing, startled eyes. Like I've used it on my mandala inks sleeves tattooed on my arms.
I was in my pink tank top with jumper jeans, and I don't hide my inks; besides, I'm riding my bicycle to dress in a tuxedo or formal attire for my quick interview.
I decided to look around to see if there was a store nearby, using bathrooms to change my clothes, but there were none. Furthermore, I decided to pedal my bike to search the place but only saw a coffee shop, and there is a bathroom in there for the customers.
"Hi there, nice inks..." the second guy delightfully noticed; I only looked at him when I parked and locked my bike in the parking area. Real-world in the streets.
I started walking across towards the corner, seeing some random customers queuing for the love of caffeine. A few are on the table with coffee and cupcakes. I managed to end up in one of the stalls for changing my clothes, opening the door.
I grabbed my tumbler, gulping the energy drink I always carried in my bag.
"Kacey," I heard my name, and then I looked up at the woman standing next to me. I looked directly at the mirror, and I immediately recognized the woman standing next to me; I swallowed the drink inside my mouth, flattered.
"Allister," I replied. She smiles at me after she closes her purse.
"You are late," she said, smiling elegantly, looking on her wristwatch.
"I was changing my clothes for my interview, making myself decent a bit," Kacey said, blushing, holding tight to both the straps of her backpack. She didn't move a muscle, standing next to Allister.
"Don't change; you looked good and sexy seeing you that way. "Allister said, stopping Kacey from protesting how she looked on herself for the interview. Allister took one step backwards away from the washbasin, crossing her arms in front of her chest, tapping her fingers, staring at Kacey's reflection in the mirror next to her.
"I'm good," Kacey said, standing there, the same as her looking at Allister's reflection.
"Shall we? "Alistair asked never to leave her eyes at her.
"After you, ma'am," Kacey smiled at Allister after she pulled the bathroom door for her.
They went outside, walked towards the side corner of the counter, she signaled for her order, and one of the staff handed over tea and placed a cup of coffee. Then she leaves, serving those three long queue lines.
"Coffee? " She asked, looking at her.
"No, thanks, "Kacey replied.
" Tea? "She asked again, but Kacey shrugged.
" Or me, perhaps? "Alistair teased and finally poked a joke at her that made Kacey smile; at that time, the other guy staff started noticing them wearing a blushed smile.
"No, thanks, I got my energy drink, "she replied, looking at the staff, smiling at them.
"Well, follow me; let's go to my office," she said. Kacey followed her lead.
* * *
They reached the lobby, and one of her security personnel held upon Kacey checking her bag. Allister went directly to the counter of the lobby; she signed a paper, and she gave the staff it afterwards.
"Ma'am, for security purposes," the security guard said, pointing to the scanner to Kacey, doing his job, and then he stepped aside. Snapping himself watching Allister, seeing him recognizing their boss waiting.
Observing, Allister is enjoying sipping her tea from a coffee cup she held. Her staff looked unto me, wearing those eyes, seeming to ask. I started to feel intriguing eyes towards me, but I ignored them. All I want is a part-time job for the extra income most people do these days, and I don't mind it at all.
I and Allister reached the lift, and the operator guy pressed those tiny cute red buttons, and in several seconds, the elevator door was open. That was fast, in the blink of an eye...
Again, I follow Allister's lead silently, and we reach the luxury door. It automatically opened, and before I stepped in, I saw the Ferguson logo in the wall in the hallway with a background light to enhance and look good. It's their symbol for their history, power, and legacy.
I started to think of Orianna, which I took a glimpse of Allister, except she was the mature version of hers. That moment I remember her lips touching mine... God, I missed her; I haven't seen her for a while now. Where did she go?
"Kacey..." Allister said.
"I'm sorry," she looked down.
"Still thinking about what happened that night?" She asked.
"No, I didn't," Kacey refuses to say it but to carry it along. But the truth is Miss Orianna occupied her mind; she only covered it up.
" Have a seat, "she offered.
