My sytems hadn't powered on when I saw the memory play. It tricked me though. In my years asleep this happened often. My memory, as advanced as it was in life, replayed entire days. My best ones, my worst ones, to the normal ones. From awakening to falling asleep again. Each detail was crisp. But there was one thing that helped me remember it was fake. It was the past. The former eldest of our group, his name was Justin, was still there. He was only seventeen when he was gone. He passed away in an accident.
But, when the eyes of the memory opened, I actually thought I was alive again. I could feel everything. The thoughts running through my head. That morning it was worries that the little kids weren't eating well enough.
But, my memory was interuppted halfway. Just when I was about to see my favourite person in the whole entire world back then. The child had barely started to speak before my eyes snapped open and I only saw Bonnie. In the small window in Dave's room, gold light flowed. Showing through the open door. Dave was flopped onto his old looking twin bed. Fast asleep.
The light, due to how the window was angled at us, hit the tops of Bonnie's ears. Bonnie was just staring blankly at the floor. I stared at the ground for a moment too, as I felt the programming power back on and redirect power into my limbs. I stared at my hand as it opened and closed.
Bonnie was inactive as I stood up and looked at what Dave had been working on. He was working on replacing a few wires and fixing Bonnie's speech program so It wouldn't glitch. I looked at all the empty suit heads on the shelf, back at the paper plans, then to Bonnie. 'If he's getting his wires fixed... then he'll need a face' I thought to myself. I clenched my fist infront of me, like on TV when the character is inspired or setting a goal. 'And I'll be the one to make him that face. Lizzy knew enough about sewing and colours when she taught me. I'm sure I can look up whatever I don't know' I thought. Then I looked at all the old and filthy heads. There was a purple one and I compared that with Bonnie's shade of purple. It didn't fit.
I looked at another one. The colour was fine, Perfect really. But it looked like it belonged to a dog or some sort of failed project for an animatronic. 'Why would a dog be purple?' I wondered as I went to the metal table and carefully set it down. I removed the ears and other little parts. Like the blue eyes and the muzzle. Knowing rabbits don't have long muzzles. I flipped it upside down to look inside. The faceplate was held on by weilded metal the inside frame. I wanted to test something, but I new I couldn't here. I don't have what I need to even try.
I looked around and saw a fire extisnguisher nearby. That's perfect. Then I saw Bonnie was still looking at the floor. The lights for his eyes were out. Was he in a reboot? Dave was still out by now. The clock read six thirty. They guards should be gone. I heard a knock on the door, then I quickly moved to sit beside Bonnie. Staring lifelessly at the ground after snapping quietly.
The manager was the one who walked in. He glanced at us, shivered, then turned. Looking at the dismantled head on the table. He shrugged, poked at it, then looked towards Dave. "He's asleep..." he muttered. "Oh well. Come on thing. Wake up" The manager said, snapping infront of my face. When I didnt move, he nudged my leg with his fancy shoe. My head clicked as I slowly looked at him. "Time for work. Come on" He siad, before leaving.
He was gone before I mimiked a sigh and got up. Moving stiffly towards the party room. There were people picking up plates from yesterday and sweeping with a straw broom. But the place still looked flithy. Mostly because they were half-assing their job. The place used to be so sanitary and clean. Now I could see a thin layer of dirt and dust on the stage area.
The day passed by rather quickly. Without any sort of trouble. A few kids followed me about, and the Mary girl still clung to my tail tightly the entire time before I turned around in the afternoon and she was gone. Probally went home. The girl's shy behaviour reminded me of someone. But I couldn't remember who. She didn't look like anyone I knew. But maybe...
