"I just really don't fucking like school, that's all I'm saying!" I shout from my room. Mom had just busted down my door, expecting me to just immediately accept the fact that I need to go to school.
"Language Auston!" mom shouts back. "I'm not getting out of bed," I grumble turning around in my bed. "You asked for this Auston," mom says and before I can even register what she just said, mom is dragging me out of bed. I fall onto the ice-cold floor with a loud thud. During it all I'm protesting, my voice cracking and squeaking. Mom ignores the death glare I throw her when I manage to get back on my feet.
"Now go get dressed and make Liam some breakfast," she demands before leaving. I get ready and 10 minutes later I'm walking into the kitchen.
"Hi Sid," I say ruffling up Sydney's hair. Sid jerks her head away before I mess her 'perfect' hair up. Intitled git. I and Sid have been the best of friends since the womb.
"D'you want to make Liam some pancakes?" I ask Sydney buttering the toast I practically stole from Sid. "No," She simply answers, grabbing her slice. "Why not? I'm already late for my first period," I sigh "Yea, me to August," Sydney says. She's using the nickname that she knows I despise.
The nickname has no real logic behind it. One day I and Sydney were just messing around. Sydney had her face stuffed with sweets and scolded me. It sounded like she said August and she never stopped milking it since.
"I don't give a dick," I mumbled, grabbing an apple on my way out. "Your such a little bitch," I can hear Sid call after me. "Says you," I shout back with no real spite behind it.

After school, I and Sid always hang out with Dina. We usually go to the cafe where mom works to get lunch or breakfast. I go sit down in the booth that's unofficially ours and order three vanilla milkshakes. Dina is more of Sid's friend. It's quite pathetic because I don't have any friends apart from my twin sister and her friend. Dina was with Sid when she found dad. I guess they created a bond over it. Obviously, I can't be jealous but sometimes I really am. However, I do appreciate Dina for being one of the few good people in Brownville.
"So I'm standing there, trying to get by, and he's all like: 'Oh who's the new girl in town.' and I'm like 'Shut up. it's me, Dina'" Dina is telling me and Sid once we've settled into our booth and gotten our milkshakes.
"Wait, this is Brad...Lewis?" Sid asks Dina. "Yeah" she admits. I freeze for a second. "Oh. So Brad who started bullying me the moment I got here?" I retort before sipping on my milkshake. Dina looks around a little uncomfortable. "He's changed. He sort of sweet ya know?" she mumbles playing with the straw in her milkshake. I look at Sid and roll my eyes. I can't really tell Dina off, but Sid can. "And then he asked me to homecoming" Dina laughs avoiding eye contact with me now. "Wait and...and you accepted?" Sid asks and I can just feel the disappointment radiate off of her. I know Sydney wanted to go with Dina. It's all she's been talking about.
"No. I told him to take his washboard abs and chiselled jawline and get out of my face" Dina says sarcastically "Yeah, of course, I said yes". I can't believe anyone would find that a good reason to go out with someone. What about the fact that he's an absolute douchebag. Doesn't that bother you? I can see Sid tensing up from the corner of my eyes. "uh--oh my god. You had sex with him, didn't you?" Sydney asks and I mildly choke on my milkshake.
Dina shakes her head but tries to hold in her laughter. "Holy shit," I and Sid say in sync. I can easily tell we're both stunned. "No fucking way," I gape. "You gave Bradley Lewis your v-card?" Sydney whisper-shouts only it's really nothing like a whisper. "Shh" Dina hushes her. "please tell me he used a condom, because-" "Yes of course" Dina interrupts her.
