"I'm exhausted." I said as we entered the room and headed for the two chairs we had set up earlier. " Me too." she answered taking a seat.
I took my phone off the charger first.
Battery full remove charger. Then I sat down straddling my chair and facing her.

She took out a big file from  her bag and then reached for her phone. There was silence between us as we both went through our phones. Well actually she went through her phone I just pretended to and when she was completely focused on her phone I would look up and marvel at her features.

So fucking beautiful, and the Epiphany of realizing the difference between pretty and beautiful was now dawning on me and God was she beautiful. The braces were definitely doing a number on me.

Her hair was styled in a silky draid like way. I didn't understand how she made it look like that. I'd never seen it on anyone else before. It looked really good on her. Very natural and somewhat distinct and made just for her. A strand of hair that she kept putting behind her ear was now back covering the front of her face. It took every bit of will power that I had to stop me from putting the strand behind her ear.

I was wondering why she was even talking to me. Way out of my league for sure and it was down casting but I was happy she was interested enough to spend the day with me. That means something I'm sure.
I wouldn't get my hopes up though. I laughed silently at my thoughts but caught her attention in the process. And she caught me looking but I didn't look away, I couldn't.

"What are you laughing at?" She asked trying to decipher my thoughts but I had always been great at not letting anyone read my emotions or thoughts if I didn't want them to.

"I'm looking at you. You're beautiful." I blurted out unintentionally. She blushed hard, her eyes twitching and cheeks slowly turning a very light shade of red while she put the strand of hair behind her ear and tried to hide her reaction but it was too late and she was finding it very hard to hide the expression.

"Boy please!" She said now giggling a little but so fade that I barely heard and then she whispered in response before I could say anything. So silently it was very hard to hear but I heard. "Thank you, you are not too bad yourself." I smiled

"Not too bad? Understatement of the century. Love, I am super fresh and I know you know it." I responded in mischief

"Cocky much are we now? But okay maybe a little." I smiled with my eyes when she said this.

" A little what?" I asked. "A little hot." She said breathlessly and I laughed in victory and she beamed with joy and joined me. After that for a moment there was silence between us. The silence stretched to infinity and was heavy with meaning. My heart began to pound. I felt butterflies everywhere. All over the floor. The windows. The walls. Her eyes were soft, filled with unspoken words that my heart recognized. And this made me yearn for her so badly at this moment that I ached from it.

Another strand of hair fell over her face and this time I couldn't resist.
To hell with will power. I looked into her eyes and reached for her face, then I slowly put the strand behind her ear. I could feel her shiver a little when the skin of my palm brazed over her smooth cheeks as I returned my hand. I didn't want to but I knew I had to. And I did all this my eyes completely glued to hers which were also in the same trance. None of us broke eye contact for a while.

" The way you look at me." She said with her eyes full of emotion and depth and it was intense. The room became increasingly hot now.

"How do I look at you." I whispered back so silently and so intensely that I barely recognized my voice.

"Like..... I don't know" she kept steady eye contact, breathless but I could tell she couldn't find the words to express the emotion and the way I looked at her. The way we looked at each other.

"I remember I owe you a song" I changed the topic and broke eye contact. I could tell she was still mesmerized from whatever had just happened. I was too but I had to cool down before it was too much for me to handle.

"Ohh yesssss, I almost forgot!" She was back to reality now. "Okay let me get the guitar."

I played the intro to the song and she squealed which made me both very nervous and excited as well. I laughed and then began the song. As soon as I started singing she became silent. Focused. She looked at me with an emotion I could not define. She was so deep and I didn't break eye contact through the duration of the entire song.

I kept singing and she turned her head down for a moment. Suddenly she looked up and her gaze met mine with more emotion than before. Her eyes were damp and I could tell this was getting too emotional. My heart slammed against my chest as my fingers strummed every string with a softness i never used before.

Funny how a song's words can mean something totally out of context and still mean what you want them to mean. Like in this case the song Love Yourself meant something different. I didn't know what it was but I knew it wasn't a breakup being sung,
I could tell she was hearing the same thing as I was.

A melody deepening and conversing the words unsaid and covering up every gap between us at that moment. I finished and it felt like I had been running through fire but also like I was swimming in the cool waters of heaven. The feeling was breathtaking.

She just stared at me for a moment after I was done. "I did not expect that" she said honestly "it was beautiful, beyond beautiful, wow now you're really making me crazy. Where did you learn that?" I smiled in appreciation "My mom taught me piano when I was 8 and I started playing guitar later on and the singing I started soon after.

"Well props to your mom she did a great job. Wow!" I was more mesmerized

"Thank you that means a lot" She smiled and then sighed " I wish I could also play the piano, I mean my best friend is being taught by her boyfriend."

I then decided to ask something that I should have asked earlier but didn't.

" What about your boyfriend,  doesn't he teach you?" I asked trying to get the answer I was looking for.

She probably has a boyfriend so fuck off. I thought and then she spoke.

"Ugh unfortunately he does not." I felt something sink but then she continued

"He doesn't teach me because he doesn't exist.
I don't have a boyfriend so I don't know who will teach me"

I was beyond happy and I couldn't help but spread a stupid smile on my face. It wasn't like me to have my expressions on display like that but I would let it slide this one time.

"Well you don't have to worry about that anymore because I'll teach you from now on." I spoke smiling warmly.

She beamed with joy and her hazel eyes sparkled. "Ohh thank you thank you Tkae, Yes!! Finally someone will teach me!"

I laughed with her and just gave her a you're welcome wink. I honestly did not understand what was happening now but the idea and thought of love at first sight, cringy as it sounds was starting to make little sense. Still didn't believe in it but it was slightly making sense. Very very slightly.
