I was feeling confident. I walked into home room and was already making my way over to the back when all of a sudden I start flying in the air.
Like I tripped on air but before I could face plant someone grabbed on to my shoulders and kept me balanced.
"Hey, you good?" Alex says, while spinning me around and furrowing his brows.
"Yeah, I'm good." My face starts to heat up because he had his huge hands on both of my shoulders caging me in. I think I was tripped theres no way that I tripped on air.
Sure enough I look past Alex's chest and see that Bitch Emily laughing like a fucking donkey.
We make eye contact. And she gives me a sickly sweet smile. I press my lips together and roll my eyes. Then I look back at Alex. He's also looking at Emily and giving her a disgusted face.
He looks back at me gives me a smile and removes his hands from my shoulder. The bell rings signaling class started. So, I move past him and go to sit down. Alex follows me and when I look up at him he's staring at me and leaning back in his chair with his hands on the desk.
"You look really pretty." He says while looking me up and down and then meeting my eyes with a smirk.
Am I hearing things. Did he just call me pretty. Omg omg the fuck. Ok ok just breathe. Say something your face is definitely red.
"Erm thanks." I say with a genuine smile that meets my eyes. My face is probably beyond red. I have light brown skin but my blush is still always painfully obvious.
We hold eye contact smiling at each other but we're interrupted by Ms.Algeys voice.
"Hey class so today we are going to choose our study buddies. I do this every year with my home room where each student picks a partner to study with. We have multiple test during the year and although y'all have different periods you still share the same teachers and tests. You can use the help of your study buddy to study for tests along the year or for S.A.T prep. This is a mandatory assignment. Now you have ten minutes to pick a partner. Although I recommend exchanging numbers to make it easier, do what you please."
Once the teacher stops teaching the class is filled with chatter and noise.
Fuck I don't have anybody I know in this class. This is embarrassing. Damn what do I do- but before I can finish my thought Alex speaks up and I glance up at him.
"Hey, uh do want to be partners."He says then flashes me a smile.
" Yeah." I nod with a faint smile.
"Ok, cool I should probably give you my number then... you know for studying."Alex's says.
I nod with a blush and look around the classroom to make sure people have their phones out so I'm not the only one. Then I pull out my phone and go to add a contact.
"Here," I say then hand my phone to Alex. He gently grabs my phone and flashes me another smile before typing his number in.
He then hands me my phone back brushing his knuckles on my hand. When I look at what he named his contact it says "Alex 🥵🥵". I glance up at him and he's staring at me with a smirk. I laugh and his smirk turns into a dimpled grin before he lets out a little laugh.
"Sooo, we have a test this friday. Do you want to meet up somewhere to study." Alex says while his eyes wander my face.
I mean the test is going to be easy but a little studying never hurt anyone. Plus Alex is fun to hang out with so why not. Also I might have a crush on him but let's not talk about that at the moment.
"Yeah sure. I'm free all week except Wednesday." I'm actually free Wednesday too but I don't want to sound like a looser.
"Ok great. We could study tomorrow at my house after school." He says with a pleased smile.
"Ok." I nod.
Then Ms. Algey shushes the class because the ten minutes are up. She continues with class starting with a lecture about time management.
