"miss Engels, those are the papers you asked for," a girl in her early twenties came into Amber's office, leaving a couple of folders on the table.
"thank you, Madison," Amber said politely, but didn't even look at back at Madison as she was busy typing something.
"can i get anything for you?" Madison seemed to be trying too hard and Lana, who was sitting in the same room, didn't look happy, but just watched it.
"i am fine," Amber leant in for one of the folders and Madison straightened her back as if showing off her cleavage even more, lowkey hoping Amber would notice it at least will look at her, "unless... Lana, baby, anything you want?" Amber smiled softly as she teared her gaze from the papers only to look at Lana.
"no," Lana did try to say it casually, but Amber knew her too good and already knew that there was something Lana didn't like.
"kay," Amber bit her lip and adjusted glasses on herself, her gaze back at the papers and computer screen, "i'll let you know if we need anything. thank you again," Madison huffed quietly and turned around, walking out of the office, leaving Lana and Amber alone again. Lana that seemed to be in a perfect mood before, talking all the time to Amber, now was quiet. Amber let it slide at first as she thought it was not for long and she herself was too busy.

it's been around an hour and Amber was done with checking the folders, so she called for Madison to come get them back.
"yes, miss Engels?" Lana swore that the girl was trying too hard indeed as she let those words out in an overly sweet tone. and Lana absolutely hated her saying Amber's last name. and it's not like she was worried or anything – Amber couldn't care less and she knew that Amber loved her. but something was off, getting her in a sad bitchy mood.
"those are checked and corrected," Amber carelessly waved at the corner of the table, where she had the folders, "but next time i'd like to see less mistakes. i am not supposed to correct them," Amber's voice got lower and she finally teared her gaze away, looking up at Madison, who immediately lowered the folders she had in her hands, showing herself off again. Amber uncomfortably cleared her throat, slightly furrowing her eyebrows as she was trying to come up with something she could say without hurting anyone, "don't let the files slide," Amber felt even more uncomfortable as she motioned for Madison to hold the folders better and her eyes shifted on the screen again, "you can be dismissed," Lana could tell Madison was getting annoyed and she could guess why. she was pretty and surely not one of those girls who lack attention. and she wasn't getting any from Amber.
"is she like that all the time?" Lana didn't even notice, but she did sound irritated too.
"no... she's been kinda... um. well. weird at times. and she's been trying to do everything perfectly over the past few weeks, but i don't know," Amber sighed, turning the screen off as she took her glasses off and slightly rubbed her nose, "i am sorry for that. i know that it doesn't make anything better, but i just don't know... i knew her intentions, but she wasn't straightforward, so i couldn't really say anything that was too harsh."
"i know, i just didn't like her talking like that and now i am being a bitch," Lana laughed softly, but then felt bad for Amber, who's been already tired and stressed with all those workers basically doing a shitty job and having to do it all on her own instead of them. and now she was giving her unnecessary unreasonable drama too, "i am sorry, love," Lana got up and came closer to Amber, standing behind her chair. she gently tucked her hair behind her ears and rubbed Amber's temples. Amber smiled tiredly and took Lana's right hand, bringing it closer to her lips only to kiss her knuckles.
"you do be looking hella hot on your work, miss Engels," Amber laughed looking up at Lana, who now was in front of her, her hips leaning on the edge of the desk, "anything you'd like?" Lana flipped her hair, obviously trying to copy Amber's secretary.
"you don't have to do anything to have my attention. it's pretty much all yours," Amber smiled again as she placed her hand on Lana's hip, gently stroking it through her jeans, "but yes, i'd like you in my arms tonight," Amber slightly leant in to Lana, tucking her hair behind her ear to see her face better, "and always."
"good, because i'd be sad otherwise," Amber's hand slipped on Lana's inner thigh, "yes?" Amber sighed, her eyes off of Lana as she looked at Madison that stood in the doorway.
"you wanted to see me?" Amber furrowed her eyebrows slightly and kept her hand on Lana's thigh.
"i don't think i called you," Lana rolled her eyes, this girl was driving her mad and she could only wonder how Amber kept calm to this point.
"well, i am here anyway. could i do anything for you?" this was getting too much. Amber uncomfortably shifted in her sit, gently stroking Lana's hip and cleared her voice.
"Madison, i don't need anything and i will have to do something if you don't stop. you're here just to work, don't forget it, please," Madison clearly wasn't ready to be ditched and suddenly got shy and awkward, "you can go. tell everyone to send their documents to me by the end of the next week," the secretary silently nodded and went out, closing the door behind herself.
"she's–"
"she was asking for it and now i feel bad. but otherwise, i don't know, she was ready to fuck me here," Amber laughed and leant to turn the computer off.
"well, she was annoying," Lana huffed and rolled her eyes as she stepped away for Amber to get ready to go.
"i love you," Amber got up and quickly kissed her, "let's go?"
"are you done?" Amber nodded and bent down to get the flesh stick out of the computer.
"come here," Amber smiled, taking Lana's jacket from the couch for Lana to slide her arms in it, "all good?"
"yeah, just still slightly annoyed," Lana giggled and watched Amber get ready to go.
"well... i am almost sure it's not even about feelings. she's young and probably just needs money, which is understandable, but i don't think having sex slash dating your boss is the best decision."
"but you're an attractive boss," Amber laughed, pulling on her own jacket.
"and she could clearly see that her attractive boss is taken."
"okay, i love you," Lana's voice softened and she kissed Amber and slid her hand in Amber's. they went out of the office, stopping to lock the door.
"when do you have to go to New York for that show?" Amber offered Lana her hand to hold again as they went to the elevator.
"in a week," Lana rested her head on Amber's arm as they stood in the elevator, luckily alone.
"i'll take two weeks off then? so we can spend some time before the show and then i can go with you?" Amber whispered as she turned her head slightly only to kiss Lana's forehead.
"i'll be happy to have you on that show," they went out of the elevator and Amber stopped at Madison's desk.
"remind everyone about the deadline and i will be out for next two weeks, so i will expect all the assignments to be on my email," Madison nodded as she looked slightly down, seeing Amber and Lana hold hands, "i locked the office, so it should be fine," Madison nodded again.
