"who are you fucking staring at?" Rachel sighed, annoyed. she turned around looking in the same direction, noticing her. Amber sighed, leaning back in her chair as she rubbed her temples, knowing what was about to happen. and she knew exactly how wrong was all of it - she'd never do that to her. and she'd never done that with her. but now that it was Rachel, who has been annoying her for months now, but for some reason she still kept those almost toxic relationships, "i hate you so much for this. you're doing this all the fucking time! can you like stop? i am right here!" Amber just sighed, not knowing how to behave or what to say. Rachel hissed and got up, quickly walking out of the restaurant, her heels loudly hitting the floor. Lana noticed Rachel walking and turned her head to where she was walking from only to see Amber there, looking straight at her. she smiled softly at her, but immediately turned around to face her boyfriend, trying not to think about Amber. all the anger faded off and that was a problem. she'd leave everything and go back into her arms right here and right now if she could. Amber smiled, watching Lana's side profile.
"can i have the bill?" Amber asked the waiter and smiled reassuringly, when he nodded. after paying and leaving tips on the table, she got up, walking the the exit too. knowing full well that Lana probably watched her.a month later
"you can just come without me?" Amber sighed, fixing her hair as she looked at herself in the mirror.
"i can't, i need a date!" Rachel whined, "just don't wear those."
"you do understand that my contacts are delivered late and i won't see shit without those?"
"it's not that bad, i am sure," Rachel sighed, taking glasses out of Amber's hands, "you look so much better without them."
"whatever. we are taking a cab though, i am not getting in the car, when you are driving," Amber sighed, heading to the door, "i'll wait for you outside."the venue was full of celebrities, influencers and models. they walked in, immediately being greeted by lots of paparazzi, trying to take photos of them. Rachel made Amber tighten her arm around her waist as they posed, an annoyingly fake nice smile up on her face, while Amber tried to smile at least a bit. after the little photo session, Rachel immediately walked away, following her friends and leaving Amber in complete confusion. not like she didn't expect this - she knew this was gonna happen, but still didn't understand why Rachel said she needed her there. because she clearly didn't. Amber looked around, her eyes lingering on people as she tried to find at least one familiar face.
"you keep stalking me without saying hi," Amber heard a familiar voice and exhaled in relief.
"sorry, i didn't see you this time," Amber turned around, the warm sweet scent she was so used to filling the air around them.
"you kept looking at me for good 40 seconds," Lana raised her eyebrow.
"that- maybe. i can't see shit today," Amber smiled reassuringly, her eyes wandering all over Lana. she missed her more than anything.
"no contacts?" Amber shook her head no.
"anyway, how are you?" Amber smiled, leaning on the wall as they stood there, suddenly ignoring the whole hall of people, trying to stay away so no one will take photos.
"fine? finally not so busy now that the album is ready," Lana smiled, "how are you?"
"fine.. working as always," Amber shrugged, "nothing much."
"you have- a pretty... ugh, girlfriend?" Lana smiled softly, looking behind Amber's back to where Rachel was in the opposite corner of the room.
"yeah? right, yeah," Amber tried to smile back. i want you to be my pretty girlfriend. she turned around to look in that direction too - Rachel stood there with her friends, suddenly a guy came up to her, placing his hands on her waist. he then leaned down, obviously for a kiss.
"oh well," Lana frowned slightly, her gaze back on Amber as she was waiting for any kind of reaction, guessing what it would be.
"uh," Amber cleared her throat, turning back around to look at Lana.
"i am sorry."
"that's okay," Amber tried to smile again, she didn't want this evening to be all dull and sad, especially considering the fact that she wasn't all that sad, "she's getting the silent treatment," Amber smiled wider, trying to change the subject now.
"well, if you need company-"
"i do."
