Checkmate {Spencer Reid}

Omg you guys aren't ready for this chapter, again thank you with being patient as I continue writing. I have some different ff in the works but let me know if you have any requests I think it would be interesting to hear what you would want to read. Alright, hope you enjoy loves. -S

Breakfast was nice, me and Spencer had talked over nice calm things, us both avoiding any harsh subjects since it wasn't even noon. "Are you going out with the team later?" He had asked and I nodded, "Yes, but I won't be drinking. Are you?"

"Since you are." And that was it before we changed the subject, I noticed his small behaviors that made me think that if I was an outsider looking at us we would look like a couple. But that's not we were, right? Me and Spencer aren't a couple, we just have a bit of fun maybe. Like friends with benefits. But I did kind of have feelings for him, I don't think its mutual though.

I pulled out my phone as Spencer drank his coffee, looking at the picture I took of him earlier, if he wasn't an FBI agent I'm sure he could be a male model. "What are you smiling about over there?"

I was smiling? Shit I didn't even realize, "Oh, just something funny on Twitter." I lie, trying to change the subject, "Oo let me see" Dammit.

"Spencer you hate technology" I force a laugh, exiting out of my camera roll trying to discreetly go to twitter to find something semi-funny to show him, "I never hate anything when I'm with you"

Of course. Of course he has to be cute and make my heart all mushy, I find a stupid tweet on twitter that I had liked a while ago and showed it to him, making him chuckle quietly. "Ah" I nod and sip my coffee, "What were you really looking at Fiona?" Almost choking on the drink I feel Spencer hand me a napkin, laughing much louder than before and bringing some attention to us. "Are you okay?" He says with a smile as I clean the coffee off my sweater, "Wonderful" I roll my eyes at him but the smile was genuine.

He did make me feel better about myself whenever I did something embarrassing, we finished out drinks, fought over who should pay and he beat me to it, tipping the waitress more than he should've, "What? I feel bad." He had said, and interlocked his hands in mine as we made our way heart, and I tried to ignore the way my heart fluttered as he played with my fingers when we walked.

It's obvious I had feelings for him, we had admitted that before. But after everything, he just sees me as a girl who needs his help. Its his job to help people, I'm probably just a victim he wants to save, I don't mind for now since I get to spend a lot time with him but the fact that he had admitted to liking me just a couple weeks ago seems so surreal.

I try to fight my thoughts by looking through the small windows of shops we were walking past to get back to the hotel, stopping at a small library, "You okay?" I hear Spencer's voice behind me, "Yeah, I've just been meaning to get a new book." I walk in and hold the door open for Spencer who's close behind me, I browse in the Mystery Fiction section and pick up The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

I bring it to the register as I turn back and see Spencer with 5 books in his hands standing in line behind me, "You're going to finish all of those in like thirty minutes why don't you just rent an ebook or something Spencer?" He only shrugs, grabbing my book to pay for it, "I like the real thing."

I could only smile at his reasoning and grab the book, thanking him for paying. As we reached the hotel we went our separate ways and I decided to get started on my new book, I hadn't even reached the end of chapter 1 before I heard a knock on my door, groaning I walk towards the door opening it. Needles to say I was shocked when I saw my boss standing in front of me, not in his usual work suit but some sweatpants and black t-shirt.
