Previously on Who to Trust?...

I look up to search for the closest person to me, it was Lexi. "Lexi..." I waited for her to acknowledge my voice, her head turning and eyes meeting mine. "I'm scared." She had a confused look on her face but hugged me tightly regardless. I didn't move to hug her back, yet she just stayed there. Hugging me.

I continued staring at my hand. I was scared because as I focused on the pain...

... it felt good.

-=Lexi=-

"I know! I hate it when that happens!" Pokimane was laughing at what Toast had said, their humour always syncing with one another. I was about to get up and ask if anyone needed another drink before everyone heard a crash from upstairs followed by a few shouts of "Corpse!". I looked back towards Toast and Poki, exchanging a worried glance before everyone stood up to make their way upstairs. However, it seems as though no one had to go that far as Corpse came thudding down the stairs, fists clenched and eyes narrowed dangerously. I saw his eyes scan the small crowd that had gathered before landing on my own for a split second before moving away once more. I couldn't help the slight shiver that ran down my spine as I really took in the sight that was Corpse.

He was wearing black jeans with a black button up with the sleeves rolled up, exposing his noticeably strong arms covered in veins. Just as quickly as the moment began, it left, leaving an unfamiliar feeling within my chest.

Corpse continued to move towards us, the aura around him dominating the room. An unspoken command was told as the crowd parted to let the man through. I watched as he strode, every movement filled with purpose, including the slight shift to lean over to the table to grab a bottle of vodka. Hearing some other people coming down the stairs, most people turned to look at three people, two guys and a girl. I recognised the girl to be Corpse's girlfriend, but judging by the way she finished pulling the bottom of her shirt down and her smeared makeup, I could make the connection between Corpse and these three very easily.

"The psycho just ripped the door off of the fucking wall!" I also happened to know the guy that spoke, his name was Lucas, a plus one for the night. But hold on, pause, rewind. Corpse ripped a door out of the wall? Holy shit. By the time everyone had gathered themselves, I saw Sean coming over with Toast Sykkuno and Poki. I grabbed Lacy by her arm and started dragging her with us towards Corpse. I moved her to the front of the group to see how he would react to her presence and confirm or deny my suspicions. Everyone could tell that Corpse was furious right now and didn't want to be the first to speak in case they were on the receiving end of his rage. Sean, being the closest out of all of us, spoke up. "Corpse? Are you okay?" I could hear his voice almost cracking. Taking a glance at him, I saw him slightly trembling, a bead of sweat rolling down the side of his face. Moving to look at Toast and Sykkuno, I could see they were either shaking, sweating or both.

Is everyone afraid of Corpse?

I could see Corpse trying to calm himself down, I could hear his ragged breathing. I thought he was succeeding in his quest to calm himself down, but that was until Lacy decided to open her mouth. "Corpse, Baby, you misunderstand the-" When she addressed Corpse as 'Baby', I immediately looked over to Corpse and could see his nostrils flare. Sean and Toast seemed to have seen this too, already moving to put themselves between Corpse and Lacy. It was the right decision as Corpse basically launched from his position to move towards her. "Misunderstand? What part do I not understand? Huh? Lacy?" For some reason, I thought Sean and Toast would've been enough to hold Corpse back, so Poki and I just stood back, watching. Neither of us could have expected him to literally throw both of them away from him, not even sparing a glance to either of them.

A lump formed in my throat. How the hell was he this strong?

"Is it the part where you had two cocks in your mouth? Huh?!" He sounded like he was growling, his deep voice reverberating within the small yard. For some reason, it was his voice that I noticed first, his words second. Two in her mouth? She was blowing two guys while Corpse was just downstairs? The fuck? I could tell everyone else was thinking the same, but knew if no one did anything, he might hurt Lacy. That would ruin his life if she pressed charges. Everyone, including myself and Poki, threw themselves at Corpse, the guys at the front, Poki and me around his chest, just hugging him tight. I know I wasn't the only one to notice that he wasn't really trying to get out of our grasp. He doesn't want to hurt anyone.

I was about to yell for Lacy to leave, but I could feel Corpse shift before he tensed. He surged forward, the sudden movement dislodged Poki and myself. From our spot on the ground, we could see Corpse throw Sykkuno and Toast off of him as Sean just let him go. What the fuck Sean?! It wasn't until I was looking where Corpse was moving did I see who he was after. One of the guys was already running away while the other was rooted to the spot. This wasn't going to end well. Everything was a blur. Before Poki and I could even get near Corpse again, he had already pinned Lucas to the wall by his throat. Once again, everyone was around Corpse, trying to get him off. I know I shouldn't have been looking or feeling, but damn was Corpse fit, never knew that before. I glanced up to look at his face and he had this... predatory smirk. That shiver from earlier returned and it stayed. My hairs stood on end as I took notice of the little intricacies of his face.

I was once again thrown out of my own thoughts as Corpse spoke, his voice still a growl. "Did you enjoy it? Was it worth it?" I could see, from the corner of my eye, Lucas shaking his head. From where I was holding Corpse, I could see the bottom half of Lucas' body. There was a wet trail leading from his... area... all the way down to his shoes. Oh my god, he pissed his pants. If I was in any other situation I would've laughed, but I couldn't, not here. Not when Corpse was on the verge of killing this guy.

"Then why the fuck did you do it?" It was obvious he wasn't calming down. It was here that we started to verbally try to calm him down. Sean and Toast were screaming in Corpse's ear to calm down. "Corpse please!" Poki and I screamed, my own voice sounding foreign to me, like it wasn't actually me yelling. I vaguely heard Sykkuno yelling as well.

And there it was. I could feel his muscles begin to tense. Contract. Coil up. Filled with energy and power just waiting, wanting, to be released. Is he about to?

"Don't! No!" My voice strained. I wasn't looking, but I could feel Corpse rocket forward as I heard a crack. Then I could feel Corpse begin to tremble intensely before he relaxed. I looked up just in time to see Corpse's arm return back to his side, but I wasn't looking at his arm anymore, I was looking at where he struck. Just next to Lucas' head, there was a dent, the size of Corpse's fist, pieces of brick having already fallen to the ground. The lump in my throat returned with vengeance. "Get the fuck out of here". His voice sounded deadly, like his voice alone was a weapon. Lucas had long since run away before Corpse started moving back to where he was sitting before, Lacy having long since run away herself.

As we were all moving to comfort him, I watched him pick up the bottle of vodka he had picked up earlier, only to find it empty before throwing it across the yard. "Corpse? Are you okay?" I was concerned. Worried. Sad. Angry and every other word associated with such. This skank had cheated on Corpse. Before I could dwell on the negative thoughts, I watched as Corpse nodded his head. Just as I was about to make sure, he stopped before shaking it 'no'. We were all staying mostly silent, just watching him. He slowly lifted his hand in front of his face, just looking at his grossly broken hand, blood flowing from the cuts. He continued to look at his hands for a few more moments before he looked up, eyes searching. "Lexi". I moved my eyes from his hand to his own eyes.

"I'm scared".

What? Why is he scared? I don't think I had the time to consider how or why he would be scared as he needed comfort here and now. I moved forward, wrapping my arms around his chest and resting my head on his shoulder. I never felt him move to complete the hug, but I stayed regardless. I couldn't tell what he was thinking. I could hear Sean and Poki attempt to talk to Corpse but he stayed silent. I could tell he was hurting, his breathing was erratic, like he was crying, but I know his face wasn't portraying his emotions as accurately as his body was. I was the only one knowing he was hurting right now.

I just want to be able to help him. To take some of the burdens off of his shoulders.
