Louis slowly made it up the stairs from the basement. When he made it up, he saw William sitting on the floor, playing with a truck. Louis put a hand on top of his 8 1/2 month pregnant belly. He felt the twins kick, roll, punch, etc.
"Will, can you please go clean up your toys downstairs?" He asked. William stood up and crossed his arms.
"No," he almost yelled. Louis stopped dead in his tracks. He turned around to face the pouting 7 year old.
"What did you just say to me?" He asked.
"No!" He shouted. It must've scared one of the twins because he felt a kick right on his belly button.
"William James Payne. You go downstairs right now and clean up your toys." Louis was getting really pissed.
"No daddy! I don't want to!" He yelled, stomping his foot.
"I guess I'm going to have to call daddy to come home now...." He trailed off. He started walking towards where his phone was sitting.
William all of a sudden realized that Louis wasn't joking. He ran over to him. "No daddy! Please don't call him! I'll go clean my toys up!"
"I won't if you go downstairs and clean them up right now." Will nodded and ran downstairs. Louis plopped down in the couch and flipped on the tv. There were no good shows on.
All of a sudden there was a crash from downstairs. Louis stood up as fast as he could and walked down the stairs. What he found down there, almost gave him a heart attack. William was laying on the floor, unconscious, his legs and feet under a bookshelf.
"William! Shit," Louis cursed. He speed walked over to where his son was lying. "William? Please say something babe." Nothing. He attempted to lift up the bookshelf. It was just a little too heavy for him considering he was carrying two babies.
He went back up the stairs as fast as he could to call Liam and '999'. He dialed the ambulance first. "Nine nine nine. What's the emergency?"
"Hi my son is stuck under a heavy bookshelf. He fell unconscious and he won't wake up. I tried to lift the shelf up but its too heavy for me," Louis explained.
"Okay what's your address?" Louis gave all the info and hung up. He called Liam right after.
"Liam, meet us at the hospital in five minutes," he said into the phone.
"Why?! Are you in labour, Lou?" He asked.
"No. It's William. He got hurt and the ambulance is on its way. Just meet us there." Without letting Liam talk, he hung up.
He went back downstairs to see if he could get the bookshelf off. No luck. That's when the paramedics and firemen came in.
The firemen lifted the shelf off him with trouble and slid him out. The paramedics took him and put him in the ambulance. Louis watched everything. He got in the truck with the paramedics and William.
As soon as the truck was parked, the doors flung open. They took William inside on the stretcher. Louis got out slower and ended up being too slow. As he was attempting to catch up to the doctors and his son, he saw Liam at the doors, running towards him.
"Louis, what happened?!" He yelled.
"Well, he made a mess downstairs so I told him to go clean the mess up. He said no twice before I convinced him. Then there was a loud crash from down in the basement. I ran down to see his entire bottom half under the fallen bookshelf. He was unconscious. I tried to get him out but the shelf weighed too much. I called the ambulance and here we are now."
