Harvey
Chapter Four
Ship 1

Days only flew by faster as time went on. Well, not exactly days. But it sure felt like it. I kinda just vibed, doing my tasks and that stuff. It was chill.
But, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something wasn't right. About all of this.
For one, the ship felt SUUUUUUPER empty. The only faces I have seen on the ship entirely were the group of three from my first day here, and scary medic girl?? Where is everyone?? Although, I have heard from random internet stories about missions being split into two groups of five or six on different ships. I don't know. Literally, Mira isn't informing me enough about this. My brain has no clue about any of it. I
Oh and secondly, what's with the tablet mission info? I know I said before that it might just be because of the new mission, but it's hella weird that like, half the stats are marked as N/A. What the heck does N/A even stand for anyway?? Not/A-pain-in-my-neck? Because it definitely is.
God. Whatever hard-drive that's in my brain is full. I can't seem to slow my thoughts down.
Am I really ready for this? I trained for months but like, am I REALLY ready?

I stop for a moment and turn around to see the crewmate I saw before with the orange accents on their spacesuit. I don't know how long they've been standing there. But I do know I've been pacing around talking to myself the last ten minutes and I probably look stupid.

"Harvey, right? ...You good?" They ask me, staring from the entrance. They have fluffy blonde hair down just past their ears. Kinda like my hair but a little longer! Although, I can't really tell if this person is even a guy. Best not to assume.

"Uh, yeah. And you?"

"Val."

"Ah, okay."

Val looks at me concerned.
"You sure you're good? You're kinda looking like you're having a crisis."

"-yeah. Just- don't you find all of this a little weird? Like, it's not normal? Like, you've rushed to get on your train, and then you realise you got on the wrong one?"

They walk closer, holding their tablet in their hand. "I don't know man, I'm not even supposed to be here."

...wait, what?

"What? You're not-" before I could finish they cut me off. "Yeah- don't worry about it."

Okay?

"Uh..." I'm having trouble processing what they are saying but my thoughts are interrupted when the ship suddenly begins shaking. Like, more than usual.

It continues for a few seconds before stopping.

"What the shit?" Val exclaims. "Did the ship just- nevermind. I'm still hungover."
Oh.

"You're.. hungover? You got drunk? On a SPACESHIP?" My voice cracks at the end of my sentence and obviously Val finds this hilairious because they're laughing maniacally. LITERALLY IT'S NOT THAT FUNNY. KIND OF.

Actually, now, I'm not concerned anymore. Because, right now, I feel like I'm about to throw up.

"Oh my god, no why would you say that that's so irresponsible. Plus, I got drunk before getting on here. Chill." I can faintly hear Val's sarcastic tone, which slowly fades to concern as they notice me clutching my stomach. "Woah you okay?" They get closer. "You look more hungover than me-"

The ship shakes again, but this time more rapidly, and it doesn't stop.

"Ah fuck, this doesn't seem good." I hear Val mutter. My head is spinning and I can't see straight, but I can vaguely see Val making their way closer to me from where they were standing before, still muttering to themself.
"Holy shit, are you like, actually okay? You look like you're going to pass ou-"

I don't hear Val finish their sentence.

Yep. I've passed out.
