"What is with the sorry channels in hotels?" Nagisa muttered to herself, though when she looked at Ushio, she didn't seem to mind.
After the encounter with Trus, Ushio was pretty shaken, rattled so bad she didn't want to stand or uncurl from her position for an hour. What she told Nagisa about Trus, was that she was one of them. She didn't remember much before the whole truck and forest run, but she knew that Trus was one of the people who were part of her 'punishment' brigade. Her quirk allowed her to impose her will on others through singing. Both her and the quirk were named appropriately; Siren. And if she willed Ushio to slit herself to death...
Well, not like many could stop her.
Nagisa knew Trus wasn't stupid; she obviously didn't believe that it was a cat that disrupted her siren call that day. That's why, the following week, Nagisa and Ushio checked in at a hotel in Hosu, just to be safe. Of course, they'd both told Mrs. Fukisawa that they were going camping.
As much as she trusted the kind lady, she didn't want to get her involved in the case any more than needed.
She looked at Ushio, the girl had resorted to wearing hoodies, polo necks and trousers for the past three days, despite the weather becoming warmer. She probably felt safe somewhat if she didn't have people staring at her scars like the hotel workers did.
Nagisa stood and stretched until she heard a pop.
"I'm going to go out for a bit..." She paused, "You want to come with?"
Ushio shook her head, eyes glued to the screen in front of her.
"You have to try going outside. Get some sun." Nagisa insisted, "You're pale."
"I was born like that."
"..."
"..."
"Do you... Want anything?" Nagisa asked, finally giving up.
Ushio actually turned away from the screen and looked at her. She tilted her head in thought.
"Ramen?"
They both blinked. Then Nagisa sighed.
"Just... Call or something if anything comes up, okay?"
She only received a nod before she left the room. The moment she was in the elevator, alone and heading down, she gently hit her head against the wall with a rhythmic beat.
"I'm a grown-up. I can do this. I'm a grown-up. I can do this..." She paused her chanting slightly and opened her eyes, blinking, "Ugh... I'm a grown-up?"
The elevator had dinged when she said that last bit, and a couple on the other side of the doors looked at her funny. She ignored them, stepping out of the lift, out of the building and into the street.
Normally, even in the nighttime, this city was very, very busy. But for some reason, to Nagisa, it just seemed mute. Of course people were going about their business as usual, but something else was happening that she couldn't quite place her finger on. She was also just too tired to try placing said finger.
"Ramen ramen ramen..." She muttered as she reminded herself the other reason she was there.
She walked into a nearby restaurant and ordered two servings of ramen, with extra pork on the side to go. The restaurant wasn't busy, it was almost like a back alley restaurant. But she came here every time she was in Hosu and wanted cheap, good quality ramen. She leaned against the counter, head in her hand, and looked at the news firing away on the TV.
"... Just last week, a hero was found attacked and beaten here in Hosu. Our beloved Ingenium, Tensei Iida, eldest son of Iida family, was found in one of the back alleys of the city. The extent of his injuries were not clear, and is currently in hospital. This seems to be the work of an new villain, going by the name; Hero killer Stain. His whereabouts are currently unknown, but as attacks continue to rise, police urge the public to be extremely careful. Next, on the..."
