"Sarah, I'm done here, are you coming to pick me up?' I called Sarah, I needed to leave that place as soon as I could.
"I'll be there in an hour."
"In an hour? I can't wait for you, I have to leave now, I'll take a cab."
I took my jacket and left the dressing room. I went to the elevators to go to the main lobby. I was in the third floor. While waiting, I saw Andrew, the Events Director of the Business Center approaching me from the other side of the hallway, when I saw him, I suddenly wanted to run and hide, but it was too late, he had been pursuing me for months but I rejected him, his advances was really infuriating.
"Hello, Kelsey."
"Oh, Hi, Andrew." I forced myself to respond, I have avoided him a lot of times, we were actually not on speaking terms anymore, and I wanted to avoid him now.
"It's good to see you, can I invite you for a nightcap?" His dark eyes looking at me with lustful desire.
From his slurred speech, I knew that he had been drinking. It was a 'red flag'.
I tried to ignore this warning signal, and forced myself to smile, the last thing I wanted was to provoke him, "I'm sorry Andrew, I'm leaving now."
"Then let me take you home?" He insisted.
"No, my friend is picking me up." I lied.
"A friend? A man? Your boyfriend? I don't believe you, come on Kelsey, stop playing hard to get." He suddenly became aggressive and he started to move towards me.
"I have to go now, Andrew, 'sorry." I pretended to ignore his advances, and took a few step backwards.
But it happened so fast, in a split second, he was in front of me, grasped my hand and pulled me to him. ..
"Are you crazy, what are you doing!" I tried to push him away, but he was strong, and before he could react....
"Let her go." I heard a voice behind us.
Andrew's hand stilled for a moment, without looking behind him, "Oh, back off, asshole, mind your own business, " and continued to grasp my wrist, trying to hold my other hand.
"I said, let her go." This time it was spoken as a command with a voice of authority.
Andrew looked behind him, and his eyes widened..."Oh, I'm sorry."... he suddenly returned to his senses, he looked frightened and embarrassed, then he released my hand, bowed his head slightly and left in a hurry without looking back.
It was him!
The handsome devil!
I suddenly felt light headed. That was not happening! My brain was screaming at me. I looked at him with my mouth half opened.
"Thank you," I murmured, and averted my gaze while rubbing my wrist, it now felt sore from the force of Andrew's grip. For some reason, I could not bear to look at the man in front of me. It just dawned on me that i have to meet him in the most awkward situations.
'You don't have to thank me." He said coldly.
I ignored what he said.
"Errrr...he had been drinking, so..." I stammered and tried to explain.
"You did it to yourself." He said flatly, devoid of any emotion.
"What!" I asked loudly, while looking up at him. I could not believe what I just heard!
