KELSEY
THE RANCHMy eyes flickered , and I slowly opened it, i immediately sensed that i was in an unfamiliar surrounding, it wasn't my room, the cream colored ceiling with magnificently crafted Swarovski crystal mount lights confirmed it, there was no other place that came into my mind, I was at the Ranch.
My head was still heavy and it felt like a ten pound stone was sitting on top of my skull, as if I had a hangover from being drunk the previous night, it felt like i have slept for days. I struggled to get up, i propped up an elbow to look around me, my eyes quickly scanned the room, it was big and quite lavish, the walls were painted in light peach with floral designed wall paper in orange, green and yellow, and wood panels were carved beautifully like pillars from floor to ceiling, a huge sized TV was in front of me and an expensive painting was hanging in one of the walls. What could I expect to see with something that belonged to Montelibano's?
Though my head still throbbed, i tried to recall why i ended up in that room, the last thing i could remember was Gabriel looking down at me and calling my name, after that everything remained blank. I felt my face blushed from the thought that Gabriel had witnessed my vulnerable self, I would not have wanted to show him any moment of my weakness be it physical nor emotional. How could I face him? Then I heard a growling sound, my tummy was already revolting from lack of food, I was starving, I have not eaten anything solid since I left Sea-view.
I looked at the clock on the nightstand beside me and it read 3:30pm, I must have slept for long hours, how come no one have bothered to wake me up? I suddenly remembered I had to call Sarah, and my Aunt but my cellphone was nowhere to be seen. Then, I suddenly heard a soft knock outside the door, as it opened, Rossa, the housekeeper entered wheeling a food trolley into the room, I suddenly felt embarrassed, I wasn't entitled to this kind of service, I was simply a non important guest.
"Hello, Señorita, you must be hungry, I brought some food for you." She smiled at me.
"Uh, hello, Rossa, thank you, there's really no need to serve me like this, I'll just go and eat in the kitchen, and please, do call me Kelsey." I smiled back at her.
"Eh.... Master Gabriel asked me to bring this for you, you must eat now, please, don't worry Señorita, errr, Kelsey."
She left me by myself, I tried to eat, though I was really hungry, the sight of food made me want to throw up, and my stomach lurched in protest after just a few bites, I could not eat anymore, I just drank the coffee that came with it.
Rossa came back after awhile and she shook her head when she saw that I did not eat that much.
"Master Gabriel is in his office, it's in the Loft, East Wing, he wants you to see him, please get ready, you will find your luggage in the walk in closet."
...........................................................................................
My heart was beating fast as I walked down the hallway, I did not want to face Gabriel, the recent events was too much for me to bear, and I just wanted a breathing space to be left alone and think. But the moment I was dreading was already set to happen, I knew that Gabriel 'forcefully' brought me back to talk about the contract marriage.
I reluctantly followed Rossa to take me where Gabriel was waiting. With the direction she was taking me, I could swear I would be lost in such a house, it was huge that those who were living there may not even see each other at all! We turned again in a corridor then took another plight of stairs, a glass door automatically opened, and revealed a glass walkway bridge connected to the other side of the house, the view was breathtakingly beautiful overlooking the hills, pond and lush greeneries outside.
