Chan and Minho sat by the table in the living room. They eyed each other for a while now. Their intention was to settle a contract between them. It was Minho's house and Minho's rules.
However they finished quickly because Chan seemed to follow the rules Minho just listed for him on his own too, so the only thing they had to talk about is that what to tell Minho's friends. The problem was pretty urgent because they agreed to meet in Minho's house on that weekend.
"Hyunjin and Felix already know that I took in a cat" Minho said. "The easiest is if you stay in that form. You might have to handle all the pattings and cooing but we don't have explain a lot of awkward things..."
"I want to met them in person though..." Chan complained. "I mean I will be around you for a while. It's inevitable that I will meet them in person anyways. So why not now?"
He had a point, but Minho frowned in disagreement.
"And what should we say to them? I found a cat and took it in, but it suddenly turned into a human, so we live together now?" He asked sarcastically. "Also you're not really in the position to bargain."
"Hey" Chan put his hands up. "I'm being reasonable here. And you know it"
Minho sighed. He knew...
"Then we have to think about a really good story." He gave in. He still didn't wanted to introduce Chan to his friends yet. He had a bad feeling about it.
An idea popped in his mind and his face light up. The corner of his lips curving upwards.
"Let's make a deal" Minho spoke again.
"A deal?" Chan's eyebrows lifted.
"Hyunjin and Felix have already seen you in your cat form. And here are these cat stuff we bought yesterday... They will be suspicious if the cat just disappeared in the air. So today we will introduce you as a cat. Then we will... I will adopt another cat which is similar and we also got enough time to work on our story before you meet them officially" He was proud of himself. It's a win-win. Chan will meet his friends but he has time to prepare for it.
"So we make a compromise, and I don't really have other choice but accept?" Chan smirked.
That was Minho's plan, of course.
Although Chan really wished that Minho would agree on his plan he gave in making a triumphant smile to find its way to Minho's lips. But in his head he already made another little plan to make this little compromise of their contain a bit more advantage for him.
After they settled all of this an awkward silence took over them. Not knowing what to say to the other.
"So..." Minho started hesitantly. "How do you do it?"
"Do what?" Chan asked back teasingly.
Knowing exactly what Minho ment.
"Again... You think I'm stupid. You know well what I ment" Minho folded his arms on his chest.
"I have born like this" Chan shrugged. "There's not much I can tell you about it. It just happens."
"Are there a lot of... people... like you?" Minho asked again. He thought that if he learn more about his new found flatmate he would figure out more about his confusing feelings.
Chan seemed used to these questions. But somehow it felt different to explain everything to Minho than anyone else. Probably because Minho was his other half. But maybe that's why he really hoped that Minho wouldn't ask about the dating habits of his kind.
He was lucky.
"You said you have a job." Minho continued.
"I'm a songwriter" Chan nodded.
"And where do you work?"
"Whoa, whoa... It's starts to turn into an investigation." Chan laughed. "I have my own studio" he answered anyway.
"Then ask something too" Minho leaned back on the couch he was sitting. "We will live together after all. It wouldn't hurt to know the other a little. It might make things less awkward."
Chan seemed to think. He knew some things already.
"When did you start to dance?" He asked eventually.
Minho's face light up and Chan give himself a mental high-five for asking the right question.
"I was around twelve if I recall correctly. A dance group came to my school and I really was attracted. It was love at first sight you can say." His smile slowly reaching his eyes as he started to talk about his passion.
"You are very talented" Chan complimented.
Minho's face became red in a blink of an eye. Chan felt satisfied. He also leaned back on the chair enjoying the view of a blushing Minho.
"I'm hungry" Minho jumped up and slightly pated his heated cheeks. "Let's make lunch. Also... What do you eat?" He turned suddenly to Chan.
"Pretty much anything..." Chan laughed.
"I mean... Can you eat human food or... my croissant. You little..." The realization hit him. Minho grabbed the closest pillow and throw it to Chan.
Chan catched it but he hissed at the sudden movement. Because of his wound it was still pretty painful to move. Minho immediately rushed to his side.
"Sorry" he apologized and touched Chan's other arm. The touch sent shivers down on both of their spines. Minho pulled back his hand quickly.
"Let's make lunch" he mumbled again and headed to the kitchen turning his back to Chan to hide his blushing face from the other.
They prepared lunch in silence. They also ate in silence. However this time it wasn't awkward. They just enjoyed each other's presence. It began to feel natural and comfortable to having the other around.
When they finished lunch Chan offerd that he would wash the dishes so Minho can arrange the cat things in the mean time. They just finished when they heard a loud knock from the front door.
